Role Summary The Product Owner (PO) serves as the primary functional lead for a dedicated development POD, focusing on execution and delivery. In this role, you will translate the overarching product vision into actionable user stories that unify trade, position, risk, margin, and collateral data.
Core Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Backlog Management: Own, refine, and prioritize the Team Backlog. Break down high-level features into granular user stories with clear Acceptance Criteria.
Iteration Planning: Lead the POD through Sprint Planning, providing the "Definition of Ready" for technical tasks and ensuring the team understands the "Why" behind each reporting requirement.
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the daily bridge between Clearing Risk (the business) and Engineering/Architecture (the builders).
UAT & Validation: Define and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Dependency Coordination: Proactively manage cross-POD dependencies to ensure data flowing from upstream Risk or Trade systems is compatible.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Derivatives lifecycle of ETD/OTC trades, margin requirements.
Data Stack: Familiar in SQL or BigQuery to validate data integrity. Experience with Python or VBA is a plus.
Agile Ecosystem: Expert-level use of Jira for story mapping, sprint tracking, and reporting velocity/burndown.
Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with operating and querying data within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Financial Engineering, or related field); Master’s preferred.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in financial services, with at least 2+ years specifically in a Product Owner role.
Certification: SAFe PO/PM certification is highly desired.
