Job Description
Robert Bosch LLC seeks Manager Product Innovation & Value Chain Design (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 38000 Hills Tech Dr., Farmington Hills, MI, 48331.
- Expert role for product and business development, as well as technical and commercial market analysis.
- Lead product concept development and business model validation with cross-functional teams in research & development, engineering, and corporate growth initiatives.
- Applying scientific methods and tools in product development and innovation.
- Perform systematic and methodological business field analysis for technologies and technical product concepts.
- Analyze diverse markets and industries, existing and emerging technologies, and translate them into a well-articulated business strategy, including technological benchmarking of product offerings and technology trends.
- Translate market and customer requirements into technical product concepts and product features.
- Ensure alignment with global and regional headquarters.
- Facilitate market and product concept development for new business fields including concept generation, concept validation and iteration, prototype/ minimum viable product design, business case modelling and validation.
- Validation of product and service concepts, customer desirability, business viability and technical feasibility, with business units and corporate departments across all industry sectors.
- Develop actionable plans for product and service concepts and go-to-market strategies, including product cost and profitability calculation.
- Gain market insights for product concepts with technical & commercial industry experts as well as customer studies.
- Design technological value streams and derive gaps with corporate wide technology portfolio, covering mobility/ automotive, manufacturing, consumer electronics, information technology, and building and energy technologies.
- Identify and develop business opportunities for new product offerings and manufacturing technologies in collaboration with external customers.
- Lead customer acquisitions by negotiation of memorandum of understandings and definite agreements.
- Derive demand for technology partnerships with 3rd parties.
- Facilitate technology partnerships by negotiation of joint-development and non-disclosure agreements.
- Lead cost analysis based on technical specifications, technologies, and product features.
- Lead target market calculation, and market scenario analysis.
- Lead maturity audits and gap analysis for projects and product concepts.

Qualifications
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Engineering, Innovation Management or a related field and 7 years of experience as a Manager of Product Innovation, Innovation Manager, or occupation involving Open Innovation, Product Innovation and Value Chain Design.
- Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Electrification, sensors, photonics, microelectronics, additive manufacturing, and digitalization; (2) Translating technological capabilities into business models; (3) Product development teams for projects in automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, building technology and digitalization sectors; (4) Technology, and start-up evaluation, open innovation, collaboration with external business partners and joint development agreements; (5) Market evaluation, competitive & customer analysis, technology trend analysis, cost calculation, business modelling and business plan calculation; and (6) Business field analysis and product localization in large scale industries with complex value chains and advanced global supply chains.
- Travel: 20% domestic and international travel.
- Telecommuting: Hybrid - 3 days work from home allowed.
