The Platform and Productivity team sits at the core of Mindbody’s growth, delivering robust tools and AI-powered solutions that elevate customer support, improve operational efficiency, and unlock self-service revenue expansion. In this role, you will elevate the experiences of our customers, internal teams, and business partners by elevating the workflows that power Mindbody’s most critical platforms. - Identity Platform: Mindbody’s end-to-end identity ecosystem across business and consumer products, delivering simple, secure, and intuitive account management and login experiences.
- AI Assistant: Transform our customer-support chatbot into an intelligent, AI-driven assistant capable of handling complex tasks and end-to-end workflows. You’ll shape the vision, interactions, and systems that evolve it from reactive support to a proactive problem-solving partner.
- Internal Growth Tools (Growth/Go-To-Market): Build products and tools that accelerate Mindbody’s growth by enabling self-service revenue expansion and leveraging AI and automation to enhance product onboarding for our customers.
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Design Manager to lead the next chapter of our Platform and Productivity experiences.

What you’ll be doing…
- Leading a small team of Sr. Designers through complex omni-channel experiences.
- Creating the conditions for exceptional work by fostering psychological safety, inspiring ambition, and modeling design excellence.
- Championing craft and product excellence through leading by example.
- Enabling customer-centric decision making, keeping small business owners at the heart of every decision.
- Mapping and analyzing current-state workflows to identify friction points, operational gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Weaving together physical, digital, and emotional touchpoints across our support and growth channels, orchestrating multi-touch journeys that elevate both the digital and non-digital experiences.
- Build products that help wellness professionals thrive and encourage more people to get off their screens and into meaningful real-life experiences.
Who you are:
- You have at least 7+ years of product design experience including 1-2 years managing designers.
- You have a portfolio demonstrating deep craft and end-to-end product thinking on complex systems and workflows.
- Want to work in a player/coach role. You want to continue owning design projects while leading a small team of talented designers.
- You thrive on complexity and love to dive into broad, deep, and complex problem spaces.
- You believe the line is blurry between product and design leadership and jump at opportunities to lead your cross-functional team through ambiguity.
- Strong in product thinking: you can form rigorous hypotheses, influence team understanding, and spot new opportunities. You have an ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative insights and translate them into actionable recommendations.
- You have an evolving perspective on design’s role in AI, automation, and emerging technologies - and how these can enhance creative output and customer value. You see AI as a partner in creativity and efficiency.
- Strong understanding of organizational operations and service delivery models, particularly in multi-touchpoint or omni-channel environments.
- You’ve driven strategic initiatives before, and you’re just as comfortable zooming out to define vision as you are zooming in to sweat the details.

It is Playlist's intent to pay all Team Members competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair and equitable. The goal of Playlist's compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage Team Members to stay with our organization.
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
The base salary range for this position in the United States is $185k to $235k. The total compensation package for this position may also include performance bonus, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
