Overall Purpose or this role:The Manager, Procurement EMEA Travel & Meetings, will develop and implement the Travel, Meetings & Events (TME) category strategies in the EMEA region, aligned with the Global strategy and the different needs of the regional stakeholders. Deliver against targets for financial, performance, quality, service and compliance. Identify and implement projects for business improvement, cost efficiency and added value to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to strategy, policy, and utilization of selected suppliers. Provide TME procurement support in EMEA, along with market/ stakeholder insights to global team, and connect with business partners in the region. Lead and collaborate in virtual cross functional and/or cross category projects as required by the stakeholders and/or the Global Services Procurement function.
In addition, this role will manage specific EMEA related preferred suppliers and stakeholder relationships via supplier management programs, service level agreement monitoring, and preferred supplier business reviews to increase awareness and reinforce compliance to the Travel, Meetings & Expense Policy in an effort to achieve cost savings and efficiencies related to the TME category.
The EMEA Travel & Meetings Program contributes approximately $280 million in travel & meetings spend, including subcategories such as airlines, hotels, ground transportation, travel agencies, technology, and meeting & event agencies. This spend is highly sophisticated and complex and requires close collaboration with senior business leaders and preferred supplier leadership.
Strong business acumen is essential in this role relating to meeting technology and reporting platforms. The ability to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders associated with J&J’s Meetings and Data Management solutions are required to be successful in this role. This role will focus on a particular sector and/or market and specific EMEA countries may be assigned to manage.
Key Responsibilities:Developing the vision, strategy, and implementation plan for categories of spend that enable long-range business outcomes and improve value for J&J partners.
Engage directly with J&J business partners to ensure J&J and supplier objectives are aligned and met, including quality, reliability, innovation, and cost.
Acts as a business engagement leader, identifying business demand requirements and delivering annual value improvements and competitive advantage.
Engage with business partners to ensure alignment by understanding their long-range requirements.
Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments.
Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management, improvement of end-to-end value and innovation.
Drive operational excellence & governance for the appointed sector/market and countries. This includes identification and mitigation of risks that may impact outcomes.
Identify, develop, and recommend the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics.
Identify and raise risks that may impact business outcomes.
Sourcing, contracting and commercial management.
We would like if You have:
Education: University/bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; MBA/Advanced degree preferred or 10 years of related work experience.
Experience Required:
A minimum of six to eight (6-8) years of relevant professional experience. Proficient in core Procurement areas of focus (e.g., Category Management, Business Engagement and Supplier Relationship Management).
Global Procurement experience and category management is preffered.
Knowledge of Travel Management operations, meeting tool solutions, agency capabilities and current industry trends as preffered.
Strong Program leadership, vision-setting, communication, influencing, collaboration skills.
Able to prioritize requests and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives.
Ability to show judgment and creativity when resolving issues.
Sophisticated relationship management abilities at the leadership level including customer orientation.
Strong ability to set strategy direction.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information.
Strong executive presence, active listening skills and an agile learner.
