JOB SUMMARY: 

The Manager, Customer Management, is responsible for leading the Customer Management department while directly managing an assigned portfolio of customer accounts. This is a working leadership position responsible for developing team members, establishing departmental priorities, and ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining ownership of strategic customer relationships.


The Manager serves as the primary leader for the Customer Management team and is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent communication with customers throughout the order fulfillment process. This position works cross-functionally with Production Control, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to ensure customer commitments are communicated accurately and executed successfully.

The Manager is responsible for establishing departmental expectations, developing standardized processes, monitoring departmental performance, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


This position plays a critical role in the company's overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

LEADERSHIP

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Customer Management team.
  • Establish department priorities and ensure workload is appropriately balanced across Customer Managers.
  • Provide guidance and support in resolving complex customer issues and escalations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standardized processes and best practices for the department.
  • Monitor departmental metrics and implement corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Ensure department compliance with company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

 

CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Monitor order execution and proactively communicate schedule changes, risks, and recovery plans.
  • Monitor customer Quality and Delivery performance and coordinate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support and participate in customer business reviews, Working Together Teams, and other customer meetings.
  • Negotiate resolution of customer issues within established company guidelines.
  • Monitor profitability of assigned customer programs and communicate concerns to leadership.

Qualifications

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Some college/university experience preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience preferred, especially with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, lead times, or engineering documentation is a plus.

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Proficiency with MS Office, Epicor ERP or similar systems.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Legally able to work in the US.
  • Adhere to OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, FAA regulations and company specific safety standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift). Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier weights with assistance.

Must be able to tolerate exposure to manufacturing environments, including moderate noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required, Such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

On the production floor, PPE is required depending on department and product (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).

As a result, individuals in this position are subject to drug testing, and the use of medical marijuana—even with a valid license—is not permitted.
