The Data and AI Platforms team, which is part of the Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence organization is responsible for the creating a seamless experience for engineers to harness data, analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, agentic, and visualization capabilities through a unified platform across the enterprise – from research and development, clinical, manufacturing, commercial and enabling functions across all geographies. The team is responsible for the self-service platform ecosystem, developer experience, and exploration of emerging technology.
As part of the Data and AI Platforms team, you will join a group of Platform Engineers responsible for building and operating the enterprise pro‑code AI Agent Platform. This platform serves as a unified digital engine that consolidates existing investments into a seamless experience for colleagues, enabling the next level of value creation across the organization. It powers next‑generation insights through enterprise‑grade data foundations, enabling horizontal data flow, supporting a versatile analytics ecosystem, and embedding actionable insights into everyday workflows to foster a truly data‑driven culture.
In this role, you will act as a Platform Engineer supporting a diverse user base that ranges from business analysts and application developers to data scientists and principal engineers. You will balance deep platform engineering with hands‑on experience developing Microsoft Azure and Google GCP based solutions and pro‑code AI agent applications, acting as a “Customer Zero” user of the platforms. As an engineering and operations leader, you will help deliver and evolve the Agentic AI Platforms, including integrating Microsoft Foundry and Google Vertex AI services to enable secure, scalable, and compliant AI agents and data applications.
You will design and build a reliable, transparent, interoperable, and sustainable enterprise AI platforms, with a strong focus on security, governance, cost management, and lifecycle practices. You will contribute to shaping the platforms roadmap, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with architecture, security, and product teams to deliver a best‑in‑class developer experience. Your work will include using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) to provision cloud resources in a consistent and repeatable manner, ensuring high availability and reproducibility of environments, and implementing robust tracing, monitoring, and observability capabilities for AI agents. You will also drive the adoption of the latest Foundry and Vertex AI for agentic AI—helping the organization operationalize and scale AI-driven solutions.
This role is well suited to individuals with a background in software development, systems engineering, DevOps, or cloud platform engineering, particularly those with expertise in modern infrastructure automation and a passion for building scalable, resilient platforms that accelerate team productivity. Success in this role also requires the ability to build trusted partnerships with technology vendors, delivery partners, and internal stakeholders, and to apply both emerging and established technologies to advance the organization’s analytics and AI platform strategy.
This role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands on engineering, with a strong focus on building a scalable and trusted platform that empowers teams across the enterprise.
Key responsibilities include
- Design, build and maintain a highly available, scalable, and reproducible Microsoft Azure and Google GCP environments using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), and implement robust CI/CD pipelines for platform services and configurations.
- Operationalize Foundry and Vertex AI and related AI/ML services to support agentic applications, defining standard patterns, SDK/CLI approaches, and operational runbooks for development teams.
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis, driving remediation efforts and implementing improvements to enhance platform reliability and resilience.
- Coach and mentor engineers, foster a high performance and collaborative culture, and provide technical leadership and oversight to distributed teams and partners.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 4+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused roles
- Demonstrated hands on expertise with Microsoft Azure services and cloud architecture
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or equivalent) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Terraform Cloud, Spacelift)
- Proven ability to implement cloud security best practices and compliance controls, and to resolve complex technical incidents
- Proficiency in scripting and programming for automation (e.g., Bash, Python), along with system administration experience
- Experience collaborating with user success or enablement teams to maintain platform documentation, drive adoption, and support a strong user community
- Ability to foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the core requirements, candidates with the following experience will be well positioned to succeed in this role.
- Hands on experience with Microsoft Foundry, Google Vertex AI, LangChain, LangGraph, MCPs, and agentic application patterns, as well as familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts.
- Experience with telemetry and observability frameworks, including collecting and analysing metrics, logs, and traces (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Langfuse) to understand agent performance and behavior
- Knowledge of modern data and analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Dataiku) and integration patterns
- Experience working in regulated environments or with compliance frameworks such as GxP, SOC2, or HIPAA
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator or Solutions Architect, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform complex data analysis, architectural and code reviews, incident triage.
