We are searching for an experienced person to lead a team of Plan Document Specialists within our Strategic Retirement Consulting group. Strategic Retirement Consulting consists of benefits professionals, including ERISA attorneys, actuaries, and other retirement plan specialists, who provide retirement plan consulting, plan analytics, and plan document services to clients to help them remain compliant and maximize the return on their investment in the plan.
Responsibilities
- Manage, hire, coach, and evaluate a team of Plan Document Specialists, who provide ERISA-focused plan document services to internal and external clients. Provide guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Assesses retirement plan administration and compliance related risk areas and identifies opportunities to mitigate those risks.
- Researches client issues and recommends solutions.
- Maintains strong knowledge of retirement plans and related regulatory issues.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, drive crew engagement, and lead change management initiatives, as needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients and vendors. Manage goals in alignment with broader departmental initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards. Apply best practices. Maintain strong knowledge of retirement plans and related regulatory issues, including rules applicable to pre-approved plan documents.
- Oversee/manage periodic plan-related projects, ensure key deliverables are completed in a timely manner, and identify opportunities to streamline related processes and procedures.
- Support team and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as necessary/assigned.
Qualifications
- Three years of experience providing ERISA consulting advice required.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- People leadership experience.
- Working knowledge of ERISA/Retirement Plans.
- Project management experience
- Operational execution ability.
- ASPPA designation a plus.
