This role focuses on enabling data-driven decision-making through the development and execution of robust data strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to acquire, integrate, and analyze diverse datasets to support core business objectives. This includes building scalable data solutions, leveraging emerging technologies, and applying advanced analytics to drive strategic recommendations and business value.
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of the department’s data strategy, covering the entire lifecycle from data acquisition to advanced modelling.
- Operational Excellence: Manage the resources, timeline and quality of model development, ensuring all outputs align with core business objectives.
- Innovation & Automation: Drive process improvements by leveraging new technologies to automate repetitive tasks and enhance team efficiency.
- Advanced Analytics: Develop models for complex business scenarios and design interactive dashboards to communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Predictive Analytics: Move beyond descriptive reporting by leveraging AI/ML knowledge to forecast trends or customer churn.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with business units to understand market and customer needs, delivering tailored data solutions.
- Executive Communication: Interpret complex modelling results and present strategic findings to senior management to guide high-level decision-making.
- Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, fostering technical growth in machine learning, AI, statistical modelling and soft skills as well.
- Team Growth: Responsible for growing a highly competent data scientist team.
- Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to acquire and apply the necessary knowledge for delivering a robust and high-quality data solution thus drive business strategy and decision making.
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or equivalent
- Knowledge in SQL and scripting languages like Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
- Knowledge in data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar to create compelling reports and dashboards.
- Knowledge in AI or machine learning is required.
- Minimum 8-10 years in Data Science with 3+ years in leadership

Skills Required
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or an equivalent field
