The primary purpose of this role is to be a credible business partner to the Malaysia leadership team in building and implementing effective people solutions to deliver business growth. In addition to that, this role will also assume responsibilities and oversight over Statutory compliances, Global Mobility and Employee Relations as well as other projects as required by the business.
Role Responsibilities
- Create and implement a people strategy that is aligned with business' objectives and focused on creating a competitive advantage for Pfizer by building a productive, agile and high performing workforce
- Lead the strategic thinking on designing a talent strategy with the aim of attracting, and retaining high potential talent and developing a strong leadership pipeline for critical roles in the market
- Be a trusted counsel to senior leaders in the market on people and organizational matters. Coach and guide leaders to enhance their leadership capabilities and support them in creating winning teams. Lead by example to drive synergy and collaboration between different leadership styles
- Partner with the leadership team in implementing key change management strategies, including building future ready organizational designs and workforce optimization plans in consultation with internal stakeholders.
- Work with leaders on the design and delivery of employee development plans with a focus on building skills and capabilities both for the present and the future
- Use employee metrics, market trends to determine the efficacy of people processes and apply insights to re-engineer existing processes and/or build effective HR solutions to dynamic business needs.
- Ensure compliance with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipate and mitigate potential risks; enforce adherence to requirements; ensure procedural fairness in employee relations matters and advise business leaders/managers on remediation actions when required.
- Create and drive labor relations strategy as well as tactical plans with the intent of creating a harmonious and productive employee relations environment.
- Manage external relationships with vendors (insurance brokers, third party contractor vendors, Statutory provider, Mobility Partners etc.)
Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years of HR experience , with exposure in leading by influence and managing people.
- MBA or Master's Degree in related subject area is preferred.
- Experience of working in a matrix environment is needed
- Strong communication skills is an essential requirement
- A proven track record of leadership and developing talent is essential
- Deep experience in change management and leading transformation is needed.
- Must have relationship management, coaching and collaboration skills.
- Influence, shaping solutions negotiation and partnership skills are required
- Ability to understand and integrate internal and external business drivers and financial metrics to drive talent outcomes for the business is preferred
