ABOUT THE JOB

This role exists to manage Penetration Testing squads in the Offensive Security function. These squads, and your role, are essential in providing high quality penetration testing capabilities to the Group that deliver on the required outcomes and enable Group Security to meet its objectives

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and deliver penetration testing objectives and plans to hit key objectives for Group Security.
• Leadership and career development mentoring for highly skilled team members.
• Uplift the security and risk posture of the organisation, and influence project outcomes, by communicating security weaknesses to key stakeholders and colleagues – from a GM level down.
• Work autonomously within Group Security but evangelise security uplift across technology teams.
• Build networks and strong working relationships with colleagues, from GM level down, and been seen as a trusted provider of offensive security services and advice;
• Use excellent communication skills to articulate technical security vulnerabilities, severity and risk, and recommendations in a business context.
• Supporting other work or services as defined by the Head Of Offensive Security.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential capabilities (core)

• 6+ years full-time experience in security roles (penetration testing, security assessments) with 2+ years managing technical teams.
• Desirable; Hands-on experience with penetration testing or red teaming.
• Experience defining and delivering complex projects in an enterprise environment.
• Proven ability to lead and manage high-performing technical teams with clear track record of successful team growth and development.
• Technical expertise with deep knowledge of penetration testing competencies, security architectures, and threat models.
• Excellent people leadership and team managements skills – with a strong focus on mentoring and effective communication skills across technical and executive levels.
• Strong operational management to oversee concurrent work streams and priorities.
• Methodical, analytical approach with outstanding attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work both individually and within a team environment (at times with little guidance), build strong relationships and maintain rapport with internal NAB stakeholders and 3rd party service providers.

Other capabilities (technical)

Qualification Requirements

• Undergraduate (minimum) in Computer Science or similar technical area.
• Project delivery certification (e.g. Agile scrum, Prince 2).
• Desirable; Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, OSCP, CREST (CRT,CCT), or other technical certifications.
