The Payroll Manager will have a hands-on role in US, UK, and EMEA payroll operations. You will help manage the day-to-day payroll operations and drive continuous improvement within the function. This position will report to the Associate Director of Payroll.
This is a hybrid role typically requiring on-site presence at least 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing of end-to-end US, UK, and EMEA payroll, including but not limited to new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, benefits, stock transactions, and other payroll-related changes
- Ensure global compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax and labor law requirements
- Manage payroll tax including but not limited to registrations for new jurisdictions, maintain login details, tax notices, amendments, etc.
- Lead quarter-end and year-end payroll processes including tax reporting, compliance filings and W-2 and equivalent statement delivery
- Serve as the payroll system expert by maintaining updates and integrations
- Responsible for all aspects of payroll accounting, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and other activities to support financial close and audits
- Continuously improve all areas of payroll processes and procedures to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Drives the establishment and documentation of SOPs, policies, procedures, practices, and internal controls related to payroll processes
- Serve as the go-to expert for payroll-related inquiries, resolving employee issues with urgency, accuracy and care
- Maintain accurate payroll records and transactions in accordance with SOX requirements
- Prepare periodic payroll reports for review by management, auditors, and third parties (e.g. worker’s compensation and 401k audit)
- Participate in various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed by the business

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Finance, Accounting related field or equivalent
- 5-7 years of experience in payroll or related field
- Experience as payroll administrator, preferably Dayforce or an equivalent system such as ADP, Workday, or UKG
- Experience with global payroll and international expansion
- Experience with stock transactions (e.g. NQSO, ISO, RSU, ESPP) and an understanding of tax implications for each type
- Experience with managing international payroll providers
- NetSuite experience a plus
The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $150,700 – $177,300; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

What We Do
Leading the field in the discovery of drugs that modulate the effects of cortisol. The adverse effects of excess cortisol have been Corcept’s focus since the company’s inception. Abnormal levels and release of cortisol play a role in a variety of metabolic, oncological, and psychiatric diseases, and we are currently studying a new generation of compounds that may mitigate the effects of excess cortisol.
