WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Reporting to the Director, Partnerships & Business Development, the Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining well-planned sponsorship strategies to meet the organization’s financial objectives. You will be responsible for targeting and communicating with existing brand partners, inspiring and driving new brand partners, and exceeding financial goals and objectives. As a key member of the partnerships team, you will develop new sponsorship revenues, uncover and cultivate sponsorship relationships, work with internal Recording Academy departments on all sponsorship deliverables, and exceed budgeted sponsorship targets.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Develop, negotiate, and sell innovative partnership programs for blue-chip brands across the entire Recording Academy portfolio.
  • Frequently create pitch decks, one sheets, budget grids, financial overviews, deal overviews, and update pipeline and forecast.
  • Stay up to date on market data and trends.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop creative partner programs, events, and promotions.
  • Meet and exceed financial targets set forth by the Sales team.
  • Build and foster relationships with key decision makers across all prospective brand partners.
  • Identify and attend key networking events and functions.
  • Confer with legal staff on contracts as needed.
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing on creative development, execution, and design for all sponsorship print collateral used for sponsorship revenue generation.
  • Develop key sponsorship deliverables and agreements.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Communications or relevant field. MBA preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a sales role, driving sales and forging lasting relationships.
  • Experience meeting and exceeding financial sponsorship objectives through direct selling.
  • Experience negotiating and closing new sponsorship relationships and accounts.
  • Experience in developing PowerPoint pitch decks, contracts, and agreements.
  • An ambitious self-starter with the capability to manage multiple sponsorship activities at once and meet strict deadlines.
  • Must be confident and articulate with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A supportive team-player with the ability to work collaboratively with all departments.
  • Must be extremely detailed with integrity to safeguard confidential information.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

The starting salary for this position is $83,800 to $93,000 per year, benchmarked against industry standards. Salaries for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market. 
 
The actual offer extended will depend on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the role's requirements and will include our comprehensive benefits package (with medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k match, generous paid time off, and more).
