Aprio’s outsourced accounting group is looking for a Manager to join our growing team supporting Federal contractors. We are a team of highly skilled accountants that work in a collaborative, supportive and congenial environment to provide expert, monthly accounting services to a wide variety of clients.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide mentoring and one-to-one training for individual staff members.
- Be available to answer questions and provide solutions as needed.
- Provide feedback (positive and negative) to partner and director regarding staff issues
- Help to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Assess client workloads and delegate appropriately to maximize leverage, utilization and realization
- Reach out and meet with clients on an ongoing basis in conjunction with partner and the director
- Advise clients on best accounting practices and policies
- Understand clients’ business environment, concerns and unique needs
- Provide perspective and guidance for accounting regulations
- Foster trust and maintain good, congenial client relationships
- Develop a schedule for client deliverables. Utilize staff resources to meet these timelines.
- Periodically assess these timelines and discuss adjustments with partner or director as needed.
- Utilize uniform tools to assist with and expedite the review process
- Identify and create goals to enhance skills and SME that need development.
- Stay current on CPE, with an emphasis on GAAP and industry areas served.
- Become technically proficient in all software used to service clients.
- Periodically meet with prospects in conjunction with partner and director to learn to price and create proposals
- Participate in networking events to increase the Aprio brand.

Qualifications:
- At least 5-9 years of experience working serving Government contractors
- Familiarity with FAR and DFARS provisions and clauses
- Desire to work in a client facing, consultative role including interacting with C-Suite executives, and others in their accounting departments
- Able to work with multiple clients at the same time, as well as internally in a team environment
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software
- Knowledge for Unanet and/or Deltek Costpoint is required
- Availability to work in the office two days per week if local to the Washington, DC office; although remote location is available
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
- CPA is preferred, but not required
