Basic Function
The position is responsible for providing a reliable inbound supply and inventory planning partnership to deliver product availability, balanced with optimal inventory investment in line with commercial strategies. The Supply and Inventory Planning Manager leads inventory management aligned with operational KPIs, financial targets, and stocking strategy, collaborating with cross functional partners such as Demand Planning, Sales & Marketing, Distribution Centers, suppliers, and the APAC supply team to achieve business goals within supply capabilities.
Responsibilities
· Lead, coach, and develop Supply and Inventory Planning team members to strengthen functional capability and support career growth.
· Drive adherence to global supply planning standards and lead continuous improvement with suppliers, the APAC supply team, and internal stakeholders.
· Own inventory planning, inventory parameters, and related master/transaction data management to enable accurate planning and inventory control.
· Leverage ERP/MRP functionality to support replenishment planning, maintain planning parameters, and improve planning effectiveness.
· Proactively identify and mitigate supply and inventory risks (excess, shortage, and inbound-related backorders) with cross functional partners to support business performance.
· Develop and govern the PSI (Purchase, Ship, and Inventory) plan and communicate recommendations and constraints to Distribution Centers and key stakeholders.
· Oversee purchase order execution and master data governance to ensure accurate and reliable data for planning and business/operational decision making.
· Monitor inventory performance versus targets and provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders; drive corrective and mitigation actions with Demand Planners and Commercial partners.
· Lead cross functional problem solving and escalation management for supply constraints and inbound disruptions.
· Drive continuous improvement by standardizing and automating planning processes, improving data quality, and implementing efficient ways of working.
Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred
- 5+ years related experience at multi-national company
- People management aspiration and experience
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business acumen with outstanding analytical skills
- Solid knowledge of inventory management
- Advanced skills with Excel and PowerPoint. Working experience with Power BI is a plus
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
- Database knowledge (SQL, Tableau, etc) is a plus
- Business level both English and Japanese (spoken, written and reading)
