Meet Slingshot

At Slingshot Aerospace, we’re on a mission to make space safer and more secure for everyone. Our work directly impacts global security, disaster response, climate monitoring, and the critical infrastructure that connects our world. We’re a team of builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who believe that the next generation of space operations will be powered by better data and smarter software.

What You’ll Be Launching

As the Manager, Orbital Analysis, you will lead a globally distributed team delivering Slingshot’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) operations. Leveraging data from the Slingshot Global Sensor Network (GSN) and additional sensor sources, your team will provide operational analyses, mission insights, and customer support to commercial, civil, and government partners worldwide.

This role combines people leadership, operational oversight, and technical guidance in a fast-paced mission environment. You will oversee day-to-day analyst operations, customer deliverables, and mission execution while partnering closely with technology and program teams to improve workflows and operational readiness.

We’re looking for a collaborative and mission-oriented leader who thrives in operational environments, enjoys developing high-performing teams, and is passionate about advancing the future of space domain awareness.

We’re building a team of curious, collaborative people who care deeply about solving complex problems and supporting safer space operations. Bring your operational expertise, leadership mindset, and drive for continuous improvement. We’ll provide the mission, the team, and the opportunity to make meaningful impact.

Your Mission (Should you choose to accept it)

  • Support contracts regarding the provision of GSN data and orbital analyst support as well as contracts involving analysis at space operations centers (e.g., the 18th Space Defense Squadron)
  • Engage regularly with government, civil, and commercial customers to provide mission updates, operational support, and technical guidance
  • Review and validate analysis products and customer deliverables to ensure operational accuracy, consistency, and quality
  • Serve as Slingshot’s Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) on GSN data sale contracts
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, mission readiness, and customer satisfaction
  • Manage analyst workloads, team priorities, operational metrics, and mission timelines to support successful execution of customer requirements
  • Support surge or after-hours operational activities during critical mission events when required
  • Oversee workflows supporting space domain awareness, sensor tasking, orbital event assessment, conjunction analysis, and customer reporting
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development activities for the Orbital Analyst team
  • Execute responsibilities in alignment with Slingshot’s mission, values, ethical standards, and operational culture
  • Perform other duties as assigned (to be less than 10% of the responsibilities listed above)

Pre-flight Checklist

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, physics, astronomy, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting SDA, SSA/STC, orbital analysis, space operations, or related aerospace mission environments, or equivalent experience
  • Experience managing multiple projects at once in accordance with operational and budgetary plans and priorities
  • Experience leading technical teams, mission operations, or operational programs in fast-paced environments
  • Experience working with optical systems, telescopes, sensor operations, or space surveillance systems
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to operate effectively in time-sensitive situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple operational priorities, customer deliverables, and distributed team coordination simultaneously
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively across distributed international teams and multiple time zones
  • Must be a U.S. citizen eligible for government clearances, preference for existing active clearances

Bonus Cargo

  • Experience with optical telescopes, robotic enclosures, camera systems, observatory equipment, compute hardware, or remote sensing systems.
  • Experience supporting remote, distributed, or unmanned technical infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with site surveys, site readiness assessments, installation planning, commissioning, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, spare parts planning, inventory control, or field service operations.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, space domain awareness, observatory operations, industrial automation, telecom, or other high-reliability technical environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or other quality/manufacturing compliance frameworks.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar project/process management certification.
  • Experience in a startup, scale-up, or rapidly evolving technical operations environment.

We're building a constellation here, not looking for identical satellites. Every member of the team brings different capabilities to the same mission. If your orbit intersects with ours and you're mission-ready, send it.

What We Do

Slingshot Aerospace builds world-class space simulation and analytics solutions. We are driven by our vision of accelerating space sustainability to create a safer, more connected world. Space is increasingly complex due to the exponential growth of global launch activity, the proliferation of new data sources, and the ever-growing body of new satellites and debris. Organizations are making mission-critical decisions in this high-risk environment and they need the right information at the right time. Slingshot Aerospace empowers government and commercial space organizations to better design, manage, and safeguard their assets, as well as mitigate risks, to ensure safe and reliable operations for all space-faring users. We are achieving this by bringing the space domain into the digital environment and fusing together data from different sources to provide a full, dynamic orbital picture. In doing so, Slingshot Aerospace customers can make decisions at the speed of relevance and achieve clarity in complex environments.
