Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement, fostering a high-performance work culture, and aligning operational strategies with company goals. The Operations Manager will lead cross-functional teams, optimize processes, and ensure resources are effectively utilized to meet production targets.
Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Directly oversee manufacturing teams, ensuring alignment with production goals.
- Develop and mentor supervisors, team leads, and frontline employees.
- Foster a culture of Safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Act as a key liaison between both Value Streams and plant leadership.
- Production & Operational Efficiency
- Drive operational excellence by optimizing production schedules, workflows, and resource allocation.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, quality, inventory, shipping) to eliminate bottlenecks and improve throughput.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (KPIs), including throughput, downtime, first-pass yield (FPY), and cost efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
- Lead Kaizen events and drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Implement and sustain 6S principles and standardized work practices.
- Identify waste, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities in processes and workflows.
- Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and problem-solving.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company policies and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Work closely with the Quality Manager to drive improvements in defect rates and product consistency.
- Investigate and resolve quality and safety issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Strategic Planning & Execution
- Support the Plant Manager in executing strategic initiatives and operational goals.
- Collaborate on budgeting, resource planning, and capital investment projects.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives to improve retention and performance.
- Assist in aligning operations with corporate growth objectives and financial targets.
Personal Attributes and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years in manufacturing operations, with leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with a proven track record of driving change.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Operational Ownership: Demonstrates extreme ownership of production performance, ensuring accountability at all levels.
- Ensures adherence to standards while driving continuous improvements.
- Balances short-term problem-solving with long-term operational improvements.
- Builds strong relationships, fosters a high-performance culture, and develops future leaders.
- Consistently delivers on key performance indicators, driving cost savings and productivity gains.
Salary Range
- $100,000 - $115,000

Work Environment
This job is primarily performed in an office environment. The noise level in the office is generally moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with individuals on the plant floor, near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the production environment is usually loud.
