What will your job look like?

The Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training, and development of staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes. The Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations staff, primarily the drivers, maintenance, and dispatch staff to ensure that the daily operations and needs of the client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements.  The Manager, Operations will strive to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget of the contract.

Location: This position will be onsite daily in our Phoenix office.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversight of Drivers, and operations employees and their daily performance, to ensure safe, efficient, effective operation, including scheduling, expenditures, attendance, and discipline

  • Monitor daily performance through implementing strategic plans to achieve performance KPIs

  • Manage driver staffing level needs as well as assigned vehicle allocations to ensure adequate coverage, capacity and utilization

  • Respond to complaints and grievances and follow-up with corrective action

  • Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports

  • Promote a safe workplace and safe work methods, attend and participate in monthly driver safety meetings

  • Train, retrain and update policies, procedures and safety guidelines

  • Perform Driver/employee evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements

  • Communicate regularly with clients to ensure positive productive relationships, and to assist them with updates, information, and system upgrades as needed

  • Collaborate with and support other departments within the AAA organization

  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in transit management

  • Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to talk to employees at all levels

  • Knowledge of basic safety and training procedures

  • Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations preferred

  • Ability to understand and administer disciplines, as well as difficult conversations

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Map reading and driving experience preferably in a demand responsive service environment

  • Capabilities as it relates to data analytics preferred

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Knowledge of driver workforce management scheduling/routing preferred

  • Regular attendance is required

  • Ability to train in a classroom and behind the wheel setting

Even better if you have:

  • Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries, preferred

  • Previous management experience in a union environment, preferred

  • Previous experience working with an on demand or ride share service, preferred

Salary Min: $65,440

Salary Max: $82,000
