CAE's Montreal manufacturing center is unique and highly complex. Its operations enable CAE to manufacture, assemble, and integrate some of the most advanced flight simulators available on the market. The broad simulation product portfolio and the large number of airline customers served create a continuous flow of operational challenges that must be addressed daily. The variety and complexity of these requests require the expertise of a dynamic and innovative team: Operations Support. Through its technical expertise and strong operational presence, the team also plays a key role in influencing future engineering designs.
The Engineering Manager, Operations Support is responsible for leading a specialized team of mechanical and electrical engineers. This role ensures the team has the necessary resources and support to effectively meet operational requirements while maintaining strong relationships with internal customers. The incumbent will drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor operational performance metrics, and foster a customer-focused culture while serving as a positive and influential leader.
Your Challenges
- Lead, coach, and supervise the Operations Support team by planning, organizing, and managing departmental activities to achieve optimal results and performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, managing the escalation of operational issues.
- Define, develop, and implement the vision and strategic direction of the Operations Support department.
- Oversee day-to-day Operations Support activities to ensure service commitments and performance objectives are met.
- Establish, manage, and monitor budgets related to Operations Support activities.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and lead the implementation of process enhancements across the organization.
- Act as a technical expert, guiding the team through complex problem-solving situations and managing project-related risks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or College Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in team leadership, management, or supervision, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Power BI.
