Position Summary
The Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training, and development of staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes. The Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations staff, primarily the drivers, maintenance, and dispatch staff to ensure that the daily operations and needs of the client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements. The Manager, Operations will strive to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget of the contract.
Essential Functions

Oversight of Drivers, and operations employees and their daily performance, to ensure safe, efficient, effective operation, including scheduling, expenditures, attendance, and discipline

Monitor daily performance through implementing strategic plans to achieve performance KPIs

Provide guidance and coaching to direct reports

Perform monthly Safety meetings

Training, retraining and updates to policies, procedures and safety guidelines

Perform Driver/employee evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements
-
Communicate regularly with client to ensure positive productive relationship, and to assist them with updates, information, and system upgrades as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Excellent communication skills and ability to talk to employees at all levels

Knowledge of basic safety and training procedures

Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations preferred

Ability to understand and administer disciplines, as well as difficult conversations

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Map reading, driving experience preferably in a demand responsive service environment,

Capabilities as it relates to data analytics preferred

Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

Knowledge of driver workforce management scheduling/routing preferred

Regular attendance is required

Ability to train in a classroom and behind the wheel setting
Required Education and Experience
-
High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent
-
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
-
5+ years of experience in transit management
-
Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries, preferred
-
Previous management experience in a union environment, preferred
-
Previous experience working with an on demand or ride share service, preferred

Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment

Must possess a valid driver’s license
