MANAGER OF OPERATIONAL PLANNING
Manager of Operational Planning is the essential enabler of business performance by maintaining constant and detailed alignment of Sales and Order management actions with planned opportunities and financial performance expectations. The Manager of Operational Planning must be able to work collaboratively and proactively with Business leaders, Operations, Sales, Commercial, Planning and Financial teams to coordinate planning/supply efforts in support of revenue, cost and cash flow objectives. The Manager of Operational Planning plays a critical role proactively managing the order fulfilment cadence for the business by aligning the need to meet or exceed customer expectations with existing supply chain capabilities and revenue financial commitments, especially in the constrained workflows. To accomplish the goals of the job, the Manager of Operational Planning also is responsible for patterning with the SAO leaders to track the MTD and QTD production vs. plans, manage the clearing of the holds on process orders and update and own the short-term (current and next quarter) progress vs. forecast.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The Manager of Operational Planning continuously identifies order fulfilment and sales plan gaps and facilitates closure of such gaps by engaging and mediating between multiple internal stakeholders. This includes leading cross-functional teams for clearing order holds, INCO term issues, logistic barriers and other sales order disruptions.
- Analyze, coordinate and communicate on a weekly basis the monthly and quarterly sales plan through the appropriate Tracker tool(s) for both mill-direct and directed warehouse stocking needs. Highlight risks and upsides to the plans.
- Upon identified risks and upsides to Sales plans, propose corrective actions to mitigate potential misses across made-to-order and made-to-stock pathways. Manage this within the constructs of the Sales and Operations Process cadence setup to manage the business.
- Support Commercial leaders with maintenance of dashboards and KPI’s flagging logistics, manufacturing and other operational issues relevant for people and regions
- Track and communicate requirements and changes to the business leadership functions of Planning, Finance, Commercial and Operations.
- Engage in process and system improvement projects around forecasts and forecasting process evolution, SAP Order Management, SAP analytics tools and sales effectiveness KPIs.
- Actively participate in global and regional meetings (weekly/monthly /quarterly) for the below global leadership team activities
Required Skills:
- Proven business process improvement skills
- Understanding of the processes associated with the sales cycle and the ability to influence the process to deliver business results.
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following tools, and a strong desire to learn the others: Salesforce CRM, SAP Order to Cash, Business Analytics, and Microsoft Excel
- Manufacturing industry experience is highly desirable
- Experience of working in a matrixed environment and across multiple functions highly desired
- Previous interaction or experience working with Logistics / Supply Chain and Manufacturing organizations is desired
Position Requirements:
- 4-year degree in a technical or business field
- 4+ years in a sales support, sales operations, order fulfilment, supply chain, or other relevant business experience
- SAP or other MRP experience
- Lean Six Sigma experience
- Commercial/Sales experience
