Hong Kong Baptist University is a leading research liberal arts university in Asia. Founded in 1968, the School of Communication comprises three departments—Journalism, Communication Studies, and Interactive Media. Together they offer seven programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate (MA, MPhil, PhD) levels to 2,000 students. As a leading school in the Asia-Pacific region, its faculty members work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary academic environment that entails collaboration across multiple fields of study.
The appointee is expected to provide support to the Office of the Dean of Communication.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of marketing, branding, and communication strategies aligned with the School’s long-term goals;
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable communication plans, campaigns, and deliverables with clear objectives and timelines;
- Proactively identify opportunities in promotion, marketing, community engagement and digital communications;
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate within the team to ensure clear responsibilities, efficient workflows, timely delivery, and high-quality outputs;
- Manage integrated communication initiatives, school-level events, social media platforms, and AI tools, while monitoring outcomes and recommending improvements; and
- Performing any other duties as assigned by the Dean and the Head of School Administration.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least eight years of relevant work experience in the tertiary education sector, including at least three years in a supervisory role;
- A good command of English and Chinese (both Cantonese & Putonghua);
- Good communication skills and be a good team-player;
- Proficiency in AI tools and computing applications, particularly MS Office, Canva, as well as Chinese and English word processing; and
- Self-motivated with a pleasant personality and able to work both independently and in a team.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years commencing in October/November 2026. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree
