Job Purpose:

To lead and optimize the end-to-end order-to-cash (O2C) process ensuring effective credit risk management, sound financial control and alignment between commercial decision and customer risk profile. The role integrates credit governance, financial control and process engineering, providing a link between Finance, Commercial and Systems to ensure revenue integrity and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Order-to-Cash (O2C) Process Ownership

    • Lead the end-to-end O2C cycle including credit approvals, billing adjustments and collections from customers.

    • Ensure efficient and controlled flow of transactions from customer onboarding to cash receipts. 

    • Drive improvements in cycle times, process efficiency and control effectiveness.

    • Review and provide input into pricing proposals, device financing and contract structures to ensure risk-adjusted returns and revenue quality.

  2. Commercial Alignment & Customer Lifecycle Oversight

    • Partner with Commercial and Sales teams to align product offers and credit decisions with customer affordability and suitability of products.

    • Provide insights into product pricing, customer trends and drivers of churn and default.

    • Support risk-adjusted decision-making for pricing structures and product offering.

  3. Credit Risk Management

    • Design and implement credit policies and risk frameworks aligned to business strategy and MTN Group standards.

    • Manage credit approval processes ensuring robust assessments of customer creditworthiness and appropriate alignment between products offered and customer profile.

    • Monitor and improve key working capital and credit metrics.

    • Oversee collections strategy and execution.

    • Provide oversight and governance over credit notes and write-offs.

    • Collaborate with Financial Accounting (R2R) and Revenue Assurance to ensure integrity of revenue and receivable reporting.

  4. Transformation & Process Engineering

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across O2C.

    • Identify and implement automation opportunities, including workflow optimization and system enhancements.

    • Improve efficiency of credit approval processes, collection workflows and O2C reporting.

    • Develop dashboards and analytics for credit risk, AR performance and operational efficiency.

  5. Cost Accounting & Assets-related controls

    • Support cost visibility within the O2C process (Cost-to-serve analytics and customer profitability insights).

    • Oversee fixed assets related to revenue operations, ensuring accurate capitalization, utilization and compliance with policies.

    • Promote a data-driven and digitally enabled finance function.

       

  6. Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management:

    • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team.

    • Act as a key business partner to Commercial teams, Technology, Revenue Assurance and Financial Accounting.

    • Develop team capabilities in credit analysis, commercial finance and data analytics.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence within the team.

    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Senior Manager - Financial Operations, senior management, and MTN Group on business performance, risk management, and opportunities for improvement.

    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment between financial goals and business strategies.

    • Support internal and external audit

    • Reduction in DSO

Qualifications
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Informatics, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.

    • Relevant post-graduate qualification advantageous.

  • Experience:

    • 3 - 5 years of experience within a telecom or large corporate environment. Managerial experience shall be an added advantage.

    • Experience in financial controls, credit management and financial transformation or process improvement.

    • Exposure to commercial or sales environment is essential.
