The Manager, NASC Contract Management is responsible for leading the team that manages contract lifecycle management activities for all NASC-owned categories. This role will operate as the key internal interface with supply chain, finance, business stakeholders, legal, risk management, compliance and data privacy teams during contracting for any sourcing contract NASC enters into with a third party (draft, evaluate, negotiate and execute); obtaining necessary internal feedback and approvals; ensuring all contracts are fully executed in a timely manner; and that any issues are escalated promptly. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in assigning work responsibilities across a team, collaborating with various internal customers and external suppliers, and show strong proficiency in commercial agreements excellence.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Contract Lifecycle Management:  Oversee all phases of the contract lifecycle for NASC agreements including drafting, negotiation, execution, compliance monitoring, renewal, and termination. Partner with Legal to ensure contractual risk is appropriately managed. Maintain contract repository and enforce standard contract templates and approval workflows.

  • Process Improvement & Systems:  Drive continuous improvement of contracting processes, tools, and policies. Champion selection and adoption of contract management platforms. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, training materials, and metrics.  Lead investigation and implementation of best practices across all Carnival Corp contract management teams and efforts.

  • Team Leadership & Development:  Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 contracting professionals. Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and support career development planning. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Partnership & Governance:  Serve as the key link across Sourcing, Legal, NA Operating Unit stakeholders and other Corporate resources (e.g., compliance) to coordinate the successful and timely approval and execution of strong commercial agreements that protect Carnival Corp and adhere to all relevant policies.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Scope: Contract Management for all categories owned by the NASC Sourcing teams

  • Problem-solving: Navigate the competing priorities across Sourcing, Legal, Compliance, Stakeholders and suppliers to drive the best possible commercial agreements in a timely manner. Monitor contract lifecycle process to identify and resolve obstacles to efficiency and timeliness.  Improve the process in collaboration with other organizations.

  • Impact: The NASC Contract management team leads the approval and execution of all NASC-owned agreements--covering over $1 Billion spend, and hundreds of agreements.

  • Leadership: Oversee activities of all team members and contractors, providing training, development, coaching and feedback as needed.  Assign responsibilities across team to balance workloads and foster category knowledge and stakeholder relationship building.  Influence other organizations and teams to drive improvements to contracting process and address issues--often interacting with very senior stakeholders.

     

Essential/Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

 

Essential experience required:

  • 3+ years' experience managing corporate contracting efforts, including interfaces across legal, sourcing, stakeholders and suppliers.

 

Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely

Work Conditions:Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

Physical Demands. Work Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

 

This position is classified as “in-office.”  As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Fridays.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. 

 

Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
