At Unilever, Digital and Technology is helping shape the next chapter of growth for one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies. This is an opportunity to work on the highest-value applications of technology across a North America business with scale, complexity, and global influence. You will use cutting edge technology, data, digital products, and artificial intelligence to transform how we operate, serve customers, and connect with consumers. This is a strategic business engagement role, where you will shape the North America business-led technology needs, develop the investment case, align the senior stakeholders who fund and use it, and hold the outcome. Traditional Technology Delivery roles own execution and activities but in this role, you own the translation between business outcomes and technical solutions, and the value that results. You will contribute to priority initiatives that sit on the leadership agenda, including artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities that are attracting significant investment and visibility across the business. As part of a rotational model, you will build breadth across strategic digital priorities, moving across high-impact opportunities where technology will unlock measurable value, accelerate decision-making, and strengthen competitive advantage.
North America is a lighthouse market for Unilever globally, giving this role a unique platform to help prove, scale, and shape solutions that can influence the wider enterprise. You will partner across business and technology teams, translate complex needs into practical delivery, and help create smarter, faster, and more connected ways of working — while building the experience, relationships, and commercial understanding needed to grow as a digital business leader. What you will do
- Translate business problems into solutions. Work with sales, brand marketing, supply chain, finance and HR senior stakeholders to understand where digital, data or AI capability will deliver highest value. You own the problem definition, not just executing a brief.
- Build the business case and set the priorities. Develop investment cases, trade-off frameworks and sequenced roadmaps that direct capital toward the highest-impact initiatives, and secure executive alignment behind them.
- Turn data into commercial decisions. Drive adoption of analytics across pricing, promotion effectiveness and Revenue Growth Management, translating analysis into actions the commercial teams will take.
- Partner senior stakeholders. Manage day-to-day relationships with senior business and technology leaders independently, escalate trade-offs with a recommended option rather than an open question, and author the materials that steering committees decide from.
- Connect North America to global Digital & Technology product platforms. Drive alignment between market needs and global product and data platform capabilities, ensuring what is implemented has change management resourcing and meets NA market needs.
- Own adoption and realized value. Define the success measures for your workstreams, build the change and enablement plans that get people using what you deliver, and track / measure benefits realized.
- Work alongside global product owners and third-party partners to keep your initiatives moving, surfacing blockers and resolving the commercial decisions that unblock them
- Five or more years translating commercial or consumer business problems into technology, data or AI solutions, with impact you can quantify.
- A background in strategy or management consulting, corporate strategy, product management or digital transformation, gained either in a consulting firm or in an in-house strategy and transformation team.
- Experience in consumer goods, retail or another consumer-facing industry, whether as an operator or as a consultant serving those sectors.
- Executive-ready communication: you can author the paper a steering committee decides from, and also hold the room when it is discussed.
- Comfort with ambiguity, competing priorities and matrixed organizations, and the emotional intelligence to influence without direct authority.
- Working knowledge of agile delivery and program governance, sufficient to partner effectively with delivery teams and hold them to outcomes. You are not expected to run the delivery machine yourself.
- A bachelor's degree; business, computer science, engineering or a related field preferred.
- An MBA or comparable postgraduate qualification.
- Hands-on experience shaping or scaling an AI capability, from use-case definition through adoption, in an enterprise setting.
- Commercial analytics depth in pricing, Revenue Growth Management or promotion effectiveness.
- Experience designing operating models, OKR or KPI frameworks, or performance-management infrastructure for a business unit.
- Exposure to e-commerce, digital commerce or direct-to-consumer business models.
