Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
- Lead the strategic development and ongoing evolution of our flagship newsletter portfolio to drive audience engagement, loyalty, and business impact.
- Partner closely with editorial teams to curate, shape, and optimize newsletter content, positioning, and overall reader experience.
- Collaborate with editorial leadership to identify, develop, and launch new newsletter products that support audience and brand growth goals.
- Develop lifecycle marketing strategies that improve subscriber onboarding, engagement, retention, and reactivation across the newsletter ecosystem.
- Analyze audience insights, engagement metrics, and performance data to inform content decisions, growth opportunities, and strategic priorities.
- Create and implement testing frameworks across subject lines, content strategy, send cadence, onboarding journeys, and engagement tactics.
- Identify opportunities for audience segmentation, personalization, and targeted subscriber experiences that deepen reader relationships.
- Partner cross-functionally with growth, product, analytics, and marketing teams to align newsletter strategy with broader company objectives and success metrics.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
- 5+ years of experience in newsletters, audience development, lifecycle marketing, editorial strategy, digital media, publishing, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in subscriber lifecycle strategy, audience engagement, retention, and CRM or lifecycle marketing principles.
- Experience managing newsletters as strategic audience products that contribute to engagement, loyalty, and business outcomes.
- Strong editorial instincts and a deep understanding of what drives newsletter performance and reader loyalty.
- Demonstrated ability to use audience insights, performance analytics, and business goals to guide strategic decision-making.
- Experience launching, managing, or scaling newsletter products and recurring editorial franchises.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across editorial, growth, product, analytics, and marketing teams.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with newsletter platforms, CRM systems, and audience analytics tools such as Sailthru, HubSpot, Google Analytics, or Looker Studio is preferred.
- Experience with A/B testing, audience segmentation, personalization strategies, and lifecycle optimization is a plus.
- Passion for audience behavior, media innovation, and the future of direct-to-reader products.
- Creative, curious, and solution-oriented mindset with strong operational execution skills.
- This role is based in New York City and requires a hybrid schedule of 4 days per week in-office.

The base salary range for this role is $76,000-$90,000. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
