WHO YOU ARE:

As the Manager of New Studio Development, your work will directly impact the success of the organization by influencing the performance and profitability of our Franchisees. You are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the new studio opening process including real estate, design/construction, training, sales, marketing and grand opening.

As the point of contact for new owners, you are an ambassador for the brand. You are required to be a strong project manager to ensure that all parts of the pre-opening process are completed in a timely manner and solve problems as they arise.

You demonstrate a high level of collaboration with multiple departments to execute on and improve systems and processes. You have a high level of attention to detail and ability to analyze data. Your strengths include the creation and execution of systems and processes, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Owner Training and Communication:

  • Builds strong, trusting relationships with new franchise owners as their primary corporate support contact and operational coach
  • Onboards and guides new franchise owners within the barre3 studio pre-opening process including:
    • Real Estate Process
    • Design and Construction Process
    • Owner Brand Training
    • Sales and Operations Training
    • Team Training
    • Grand Opening Event
  • Maintains the Pre-opening learning and development tools on the barre3 LMS (HUB)
  • Modifies and adjusts owner onboarding and training to create effectiveness and efficiency
  • Corresponds in a timely and thorough manner to inquiries from owners via phone and email
  • Ensures that all brand standards are being followed and met by barre3 Owners - provides compliance plan if needed
  • Provides assistance to owners for studio remodels and relocations as needed

Performance Metrics:

  • Analyze and understand new studio opening metrics that contribute to a successful opening benchmarked by the number of Unlimited Memberships at opening day, and 2-months after opening.
  • Identify areas of improvement and opportunity and coach owners on resources and tactics to improve performance
  • Conducts consistent analysis of overall new studio metrics with actionable insights that uncover new strategic approaches to meet and exceed new studio KPIs

3rd Party Vendor Relationship Management:

  • Maintain consistent and effective relationships with barre3 3rd party vendors including:
    • Real Estate - Site Location
    • Design and Construction
    • Studio Environment Vendors
    • Marketing and Booking Platforms
  • Manages approval process for locations, test drawings, and drawings for construction

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Partners with the Instructor Training team to ensure that new owners are progressing through recruitment and instructor training at the proper pace to meet instructor staffing requirements
  • Engages support from the Marketing team to provide support for community outreach, brand awareness and lead acquisition for new clients
  • Ensures retail product and training meets the needs of each studio
  • Communicates milestones for each studio opening in weekly meetings department meetings, company meetings and emails and other as needed

Franchise Sales Support:

  • Conduct informational presentations to franchisee candidates to support the sales process
  • Responds to inquiries regarding studio design and construction by the sales team

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must reside in local Portland Metro area

  • 3+ years experience in operation management for franchise, fitness, retail or hospitality - preference given to experience managing a boutique fitness studio.
  • Preferred experience opening franchise locations
  • Preferred familiarity with real estate and construction processes
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with the client and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, self-motivation, adaptability, and flexibility.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work independently on projects from start to finish while developing and fostering critical interdepartmental relationships.
  • Ability to take direction and constructive feedback.
