Summary Generated by Built In

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The Test Equipment Manager leads the day‑to‑day engineering and maintenance operations for Component Test equipment (ATE, Burn‑in, handlers/transfer, repair lab), driving equipment performance, availability, and quality adherence across MSI’s Test lines. The role owns planning and execution for preventive/corrective maintenance, calibration, parts/spares management, and data‑driven improvement using the ATM dashboards, ensuring we meet or exceed Machine Availability, Unscheduled Downtime (UDT), Scheduled Downtime (SDT), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets within MSI’s QMS framework.

Key Responsibilities

1) Equipment Performance & Reliability

  • Own OEE strategy for critical workstations; identify loss buckets (performance, rate efficiency) and drive closure using ATM dashboard drill‑downs and RCAs.
  • Achieve site targets for Machine Availability and UDT/SDT; publish weekly performance and recovery plans.
  • Establish/maintain preventive maintenance (PM) plans, calibration schedules, and golden device control for test assets.

2) Test Operations Support

  • Lead readiness of ATE/Burn‑in/test handlers for NPI/NPP and production ramps; partner with Test Process & EFA to ensure recipe, tooling, and interface stability.
  • Coordinate repair lab diagnostics; reduce MTTR through fault‑isolation standards, spares kits, and vendor escalations.

3) Parts & Spares Management

  • Govern engineering parts/spares lifecycle per MSI Parts Management Work Instruction (check‑out/in, replenishment, audit, scrap) and maintain accurate records in EDC/CMMS.
  • Define min/max levels for critical spares; monitor lead times and cost, partnering with Supply Chain for risk mitigation.

4) Quality, QMS & Compliance

  • Operate within MSI QMS and ISO 9001/IATF‑aligned processes; ensure audit readiness for Test equipment evidence trails (procedures, training, records, ESH).
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA/8D); verify effectiveness and sustainment via documented assessments.

5) Data, Systems & Governance

  • Champion standardized dashboards (ATM) and KPIs; ensure data integrity and timely updates for equipment metrics.
  • Maintain controlled documents (work instructions, maintenance standards) and training matrices for the team.

6) People Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead a mixed team of engineers and technicians supporting ATE/Burn‑in/handlers; build capabilities in troubleshooting, PM excellence, and QMS discipline consistent with our MSI Test Equipment org footprint.
  • Partner closely with Test Process, Manufacturing, IE, and QAE to align floor improvement roadmaps and readiness milestones.
Qualifications

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics (or related).
  • 10–15 years in semiconductor Test Equipment Engineering with hands‑on ATE/Burn‑in/handler experience and structured PM/calibration practices.
  • Proven track record improving MA/UDT/SDT/OEE using production dashboards and statistical methods (SPC, Pareto, DOE).
  • Working knowledge of QMS/ISO 9001; familiarity with IATF expectations for equipment evidence and customer requirement mapping.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CMMS/EDC systems for parts/spares governance.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification (GB/BB) and 8D facilitation.
  • Vendor‑side exposure to test handlers/burn‑in ovens/environmental systems and utilities.
Skills & Competencies
  • Technical: ATE (functional), burn‑in, handlers/transfer; electronics troubleshooting; calibration/metrology; PM standards; ESD/ESH.
  • Analytical: ATM/OEE analytics; SPC; root cause; problem‑solving tools; KPI reporting.
  • Leadership: Team development, shift coverage planning, coaching technicians/engineers, cross‑functional communication.
  • Process & Compliance: Document control, training records, audit readiness, CAPA effectiveness verification.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Machine Availability (MA) and UDT/SDT vs. site targets.
  • OEE (with reduction of loss buckets via ATM drill‑downs).
  • MTBF/MTTR, PM completion adherence, calibration compliance.
  • Parts/spares audit pass rate; evidence completeness for QMS/ISO audits.
Working Relationships
  • Internal: Test Process & EFA, Manufacturing Operations, IE, QAE, Supply Chain, ESH.
  • External: OEMs/vendors for testers, handlers, burn‑in, metrology, utilities.
