Overview

Expected pay for this position is $35.84 - $47.48/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Ministry Coding is responsible for the management of daily operations and delivery of coding services of assigned coding section. This position will promote effective, efficient, and compliant assignments of diagnosis and procedure codes to support the patient's level of care and services provided. Assists Director in budgetary and financial responsibilities as well as determining strategic priorities and planning for revenue cycle as it pertains to coding and charge capture.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related degree

Experience:

• 2 years' experience in hospital or professional coding

License/Certification:

• one or more of the following: RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CPC must obtain within 1 year of hire.

Other Skills/Knowledge:

• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with physicians and a variety of other department in the OSF Ministry.
• Analytical skills necessary in collecting, analyzing, and reporting departmental quality indicators ensuring compliance with regulatory data requirements, establishing coding area goals and assessing outside coding review activities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

• 2 years' supervisory experience in hospital or professional coding
