Job Description
- Perform Service Recovery & Administration of IBM MQ, Connect Direct and Apache Kafka to ensure minimal downtime and business continuity.
- Monitor and ensure availability, performance, and security of Middleware platforms.
- Conduct Disaster Recovery (DR) testing in coordination with business and infrastructure teams.
- Involved in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for critical incidents.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support during assigned shifts and respond to severity 1 incidents under pressure.
- Troubleshoot issues in MQ, Kafka streaming, and Connect:Direct file transfers across production and DR environments.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity and data transfer issues.
- Worked with L1 in monitoring system performance and proactively address potential issues.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in IBM MQ, IBM Connect Direct
- At least 2 years of experience in Kafka
- Good knowledge in shell scripting
- Experience working in a bank is a plus
- Experience in Monitoring tools like splunk, Geneos, Grafana is a plus
- Experience with Linux System is a plus
Technical Skills & Expertise:
- Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Unix, Microsoft Windows
- Middleware Systems:
- IBM MQ (Distributed), IBM Connect:Direct (NDM), Apache Kafka.
- High Availability & Clustering: MQ RDQM, Kafka clusters, HA and DR setup.
- Security: MQ SSL/TLS configuration, Connect:Direct secure transfers, Kafka authentication & authorization.
- Scripting: Shell/Perl/Python scripting for automation of MQ, Kafka, and Connect:Direct tasks.
- Monitoring Tools: Splunk, Kafka monitoring tools (Confluent Control Center, Grafana).
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes, incident management, and RCA methodologies
- Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders during high-impact incidents and recovery efforts.
- File Transfer solutions (SFTP, MFT,Control M) knowledge is a plus.
- VMWare knowledge is a plus.
