Job DescriptionAre you ready to sit at the table where the decisions that shape the future of foodpanda Malaysia are made? As a Strategic Projects Manager in the Managing Director’s Office (MDO), you won’t be a spectator—you will be the engine behind our internal execution. This role is designed for a strategic leader who can transform data into actions, drive complex cross functional projects and bring strong narratives into life. You will be the operational engine of our strategy!
What’s in your "Panda Box"?
Lead Cross-functional Strategic Projects: You will direct complex initiatives that span multiple departments, ensuring risks are mitigated and milestones are met with precision.
Ensure Execution Alignment Across Functions: You will act as the "organizational glue" to ensure our teams are moving in sync. You bridge gaps and resolve misalignments to ensure seamless execution.
Drive Performance Tracking & Narrative: You’ll own the "single source of truth." You monitor 360-degree business performance and craft the executive narrative that explains business trends to the MD and Regional stakeholders.
- Own Target Setting: You’ll lead the process of defining targets for the entire organization, ensuring they are ambitious, realistic, and strategically aligned with regional expectations.
Experience: 3-6 years of experience in a fast-paced environment (ideally Consulting, Tech, or Corporate Strategy). You are able to work with a high level of autonomy, supporting your junior colleagues and understanding the "why" behind business drivers.
Strategic Thinking & Business Judgment: You structure complex problems keeping the big picture in mind, identifying potential solutions and crafting a solid narrative to support strategic decision making.
Execution & Delivery Discipline: You are a "finisher." You bring rigor and methodology to project management, managing multiple stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely delivery of all strategic workstreams and crafting solid narrative to drive strategic decisions.
Data-Driven Decision Making: You rely on data, not opinions. You use deep-dive analysis as a compass to identify problems, derive actionable insights, propose structural solutions, and guide the SLT's strategic choices.
- Cross-functional Coordination & Stakeholder Management: You are a master of influence. You know how to influence, negotiate and build consensus among senior leaders with competing priorities.
What does a typical day look like?
09:30 AM – The Morning Pulse: You analyze yesterday's data, identify a GMV gap, and immediately start outlining the narrative and countermeasures for the afternoon leadership sync..
11:00 AM – Target Alignment: You lead a session with Finance and Commercial leads to calibrate next quarter’s targets, ensuring absolute consistency with the regional strategy.
02:00 PM – Project War-Room: You chair a status meeting for a critical cross-functional project, unblocking bottlenecks and ensuring execution alignment across the board.
04:00 PM – Executive deck review: You refine a high-stakes deck for a Regional review, reviewing other teams' narrative and ensuring the overall deck is leadership-ready.
- 05:30 PM – Execution Check: A quick sync with the MD to confirm that all stakeholders are aligned on the upcoming week’s top execution priorities.
