Summary

The ideal candidate will become the subject matter expert in building compelling sales stories based on category and sales data. This involves translating complex data into meaningful narratives that resonate with key stakeholders. The Senior Analyst will create visually appealing presentations, reports, and dashboards to effectively communicate insights and recommendations. By crafting persuasive sales stories, the analyst will influence decision-making and drive business growth. Overall, the Senior Analyst for the Case Ready Value-Added Walmart Team will be a key driver of analytical excellence, category insights, and profitability enhancement. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, advanced technical skills, and the ability to communicate complex data in a clear and compelling manner. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment and contribute to the success of both Tyson Foods and Walmart.

A core responsibility of this role is to monitor and analyze market and category trends. The Senior Analyst will track changes in consumer behavior, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify emerging trends. By understanding these trends, the analyst will provide actionable recommendations to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate potential risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication: Master the art of clear and engaging communication, effectively conveying data-driven insights and actionable business recommendations.
  • Market Projections: Collaborate with internal business units to project primal markets impacting Walmart’s accrual fund. Work alongside the merchant and sales team to execute retail strategies.
  • Analysis: Provide deep analytical insights on Walmart business metrics, including sales trends, supply chain metrics, shipments, product quality, new item performance, AOP, and benchmarking using syndicated data.
  • Pricing: This individual will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate upload of Beef pricing.
  • Tracking: Publish seasonal business trackers and manage all customer-related activities to ensure optimal planning and forecast accuracy.
  • Customer Solutions: Respond to customer needs and create solutions that drive mutual benefits.
  • Reporting: Develop and publish daily, weekly, and quarterly reports for team leaders and customers, along with ad hoc requests.
  • Availability: Be available to the business, including possible weekend work as needed.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Become an expert in Walmart Luminate to create actionable insights benefiting both Walmart and Tyson Foods.
  • Foresight: Drive a culture of foresight within the organization to anticipate future business momentum, both short and long term. Be predictive in assessing how business and market share will be impacted in the future.
  • Leadership: Lead in solving complex business challenges by collaborating with cross-functional teams to address business questions.

Location: This is an in-person role based in Springdale, Arkansas, and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Qualifications:

  • Education: must have a bachelor's degree, with MBA preferred. If no MBA, it can be bachelor's plus two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Five years of any work experience is acceptable and 2 years in CPG/FS is preferred. Walmart experience preferred. Beef and pork experience preferred.
  • Experience with Walmart Luminate and Retail Link ideal
  • Advanced technical and communication skills.
  • Experience with Retail Link and syndicated data preferred.
