Job Description

The Manager, Strategic Rebate Programs & Promotions is responsible for the efficient and compliant administration of strategic rebate programs, and promotions across business units.   Responsibilities include:

  • Managing daily operations of the support team with responsibility for contract setup (both pricing and rebate), data validations and analysis, performance tracking, rebate and chargeback calculations, timely payment processing and dispute resolution.   
  • Monitoring and ensuring all strategic programs are setup accurately and timely in the system.   Applies creative solutions and recommendations to efficiently support complex contracts and rebate programs. 
  • Leading support and administration of company-wide loyalty program with responsibility for timely enrollment processing, customer service and issue resolution.  
  • Reviewing contract proposals and providing feedback to Finance, Strategic Pricing and Sales/Marketing teams on how best to support new programs and strategies.
  • Working with the Customer Accounts team to ensure customer hierarchies and group purchasing organizations (GPOs) are in place to support required rebate reporting and payment requirements.
  • Ensuring rebate related calculations, payments and documentation are compliant with SOX guidelines.   Working closely with Finance on the review/approval of rebate payments and provides program reporting in support of accruals.
  • Supporting and implementing seasonal offers throughout the year and coordinating customer /field communications with Marketing.  This may include the creation of customized statements to assist our customers in interpreting and reconciling rebate payments. 
  • Serving as subject matter expert and power user of rebate systems and playing key role in testing related system enhancements and upgrades. 
  • Applying technical acumen to identify root cause of issues in complex situations and offering solutions to permanently fix problems.
  • Developing and building team knowledge on rebate programs, calculations, documentation requirements and rebate systems.  
     

Qualifications:

  • BS, BA degree required
  • 4-6 years of experience in an Accounting, Finance or related function in professional operational environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory/people management experience.
  • Excellent people manager with demonstrated leadership prioritizing projects and workload within a team.
  • Prior hands on knowledge and experience with Vistex, Model N, SAP or similar system.
  • Experience in pharma/healthcare industry with expertise in supporting wholesaler service fees and chargebacks is strongly preferred.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills with ability to work with complex data sets and perform in depth analyses.
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel techniques such as pivot tables and data importing is required.
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment; effective in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments.
  • Ability to coordinate and work effectively with remote teams. Strong customer service commitment and orientation are critical to this role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills enabling effective communication across all management levels.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make thoughtful/fair decisions based on relevant information.
