Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Global Logistics and Inventory, the Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of daily logistics operations in the NAM region, supporting revenue and non-revenue shipments, and ensuring import/export compliance. This role will focus on driving process improvements, managing relationships with EMS, 3PLs, and transport providers to ensure on-time delivery and compliance. The Logistics Manager will also collaborate with other Semtech entities and functional areas, with cross-training as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage logistics operations in the NAM region, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and cost savings.

  • Collaborate within the Global Logistics team and with other departments such as Finance, Engineering, Sales Ops, and Quality on logistics responsibilities and problem-solving.

  • Perform data management, including data analysis, process mapping, and cost/benefit analysis, and assist in developing or upgrading SOPs and Work Instructions.

  • Ensure trade compliance, maintaining efficient logistics and export shipping procedures according to customs requirements.

  • Oversee inventory cycle counts and reconciliation activities to ensure accurate stock levels, including year-end physical inventory and audit supervision.

  • Utilize global carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL) online systems to manage shipping logistics and generate necessary documentation.

  • Ensure customs compliance by verifying product valuation, classification, country of origin, and marking requirements.

  • Communicate and resolve issues affecting on-time delivery and prepare shipping contingency plans.

  • Audit and reconcile freight and warehouse invoices.

  • Stay informed of transportation and customs regulatory changes, providing guidance on implementation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in Global Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Trade.

  • Post-secondary education in Business Management, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Experience in managing inventory cycle counts and reconciliation processes to maintain accurate stock levels.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing logistics operations, 3PLs, and logistics providers.

  • Familiarity with global geography, Incoterms, and customs regulations, including product classification.

  • Knowledge of Canadian and US Import/Export compliance regulations.

  • Experience with Global Couriers (FedEx/UPS/DHL) and ability to use manual or online systems for shipping and tracking.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to ethical standards.

Desired Qualifications

  • Certifications in Logistics or Supply Chain Management are an asset.

  • Lean Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement training is a plus.

  • Prior experience with JD Edwards or SAP is preferred.

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is CAD $85,000 - $120,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
