National Transport Operations Manager

The Asia-Pacific region currently includes Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Singapore employing nearly 3000 team members.

We are now looking to appoint a National Transport Operations Manager to be accountable for Lineage’s national transport operations, based in Melbourne.

This is a hands-on, operational role with end-to-end responsibility for the performance, safety, cost and service outcomes of our transport network across Australia.

You will work directly with state-based leaders and frontline operations to ensure disciplined execution, consistent standards and strong results — every day.

You will also be a visible, influential Manager who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and is comfortable being deeply involved in how the operation runs, not just what it delivers.

What you’ll be doing

• Support, engage and hold accountability for state-based transport leaders and operations teams across the national network

• Own day-to-day operational performance, including service delivery, DIFOT, safety, cost and asset utilisation

• Ensure consistent execution of Lineage’s national transport operating model, standards and ways of working

• Work directly with sites to resolve operational challenges, uplift capability and improve performance

• Deliver productivity, cost control and efficiency initiatives across fleet, labour and network utilisation

• Manage national transport budgets, forecasts and P&L outcomes

• Partner closely with Operations, Commercial, Finance, Safety and Compliance teams to deliver aligned outcomes

• Use operational data, systems and technology to identify issues, drive decisions and improve results

• Develop and coach leaders through active engagement, performance management and succession planning

• Ensure strong governance, compliance, safety and operational discipline across all states

• Embed strong safety ownership and accountability at all levels of the operation

• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, food safety and regulatory requirements

• Oversee incident management, investigations and corrective actions

• Create an environment where people feel confident to speak up and stop unsafe work

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in senior transport or logistics operations management

• Proven success supporting large, multi-site or national operational teams

• Impressive track record of delivering service, cost, safety and productivity outcomes

• Deep understanding of transport safety, Chain of Responsibility and regulatory compliance

• Demonstrated capability in P&L ownership, budgeting and commercial decision-making

• Highly effective stakeholder engagement across frontline, leadership and executive levels

• Practical, data-driven problem solver with excellent operational judgement

• Experience working with TMS platforms and operational reporting tools

• Qualifications in Business, Transport, Logistics or a related discipline are highly regarded
