The role owns the evolution of IoT-enabled solutions for pharmaceutical shipping and freight security, including device lifecycle management, performance governance, and continuous improvement. In partnership with Logistics, Quality, Procurement, Finance, BTS/IT, and external providers, the Manager translates operational insight into scalable capabilities that protect product, reduce risk, and optimize total logistics cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Own strategy, deployment, and lifecycle management for IoT-enabled visibility and freight-security devices, including requirements, vendor management, provisioning, inventory, maintenance, data quality, user adoption, and retirement.
  • Advance end-to-end pharmaceutical shipping solutions that strengthen shipment visibility, product protection, exception management, chain of custody, and freight-security controls in line with quality, regulatory, and business requirements.
  • Establish standardized performance governance, including KPIs, dashboards, supplier scorecards, and operating cadences for Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Analyze logistics, device, service-provider, and cost data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; develop prioritized, measurable action plans.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives that balance emissions reduction, modal and network optimization, packaging and device reuse, and financial performance.
  • Implement scalable processes, policies, controls, and best practices for logistics operations, technology adoption, supplier governance, and program delivery.
  • Facilitate organizational change management and communicate strategic priorities effectively across all levels.
  • Prepare executive-ready performance reporting, recommendations, and industry benchmarks to support strategic decision-making across global, cross-cultural teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Eight or more years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, distribution operations, supply chain transformation, or related fields, including enterprise program or project management responsibility.
  • Experience implementing or managing IoT-enabled visibility, telematics, tracking, monitoring, or freight-security solutions; device lifecycle management and vendor governance experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical or regulated-product shipping, product protection, transportation risk, and quality or regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead global, cross-functional teams and outsourced partners and technology vendors—without direct authority.
  • Proven record of delivering continuous improvement, cost optimization, sustainability, service enhancement, and measurable business outcomes through data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and change-leadership skills, including the ability to synthesize complex operational information for executive audiences.
  • Proficiency with supply chain systems and analytics tools; SAP, SAP TM, BN4L, and data-visualization experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and project-management tools required.
