Job Description
At Brightspeed, we deliver best-in-class fiber internet and telecommunication services. As a Local Sales Manager, you will lead and manage a team of up to 10 door-to-door sales representatives. Your role is to drive performance by coaching, motivating, and developing your team while ensuring that they meet and exceed sales goals. You will also be responsible for monitoring field activities, tracking performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to company standards.
As a Manager, Local Sales - Door-to-Door, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Team Management & Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of up to 10 local door-to-door sales representatives, ensuring they have the skills and tools to meet their sales targets.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics to ensure sales goals are achieved. Provide feedback and implement strategies to drive individual and team success.
- Field Support: Regularly join team members in the field to observe sales techniques, provide on-the-spot coaching, and identify areas for improvement.
- Sales Strategy Implementation: Execute Brightspeed’s sales strategies within the local territory, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
- Goal Achievement: Consistently drive the team to meet and exceed monthly sales quotas for high-speed fiber internet and other telecommunication services.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with recruiting and onboarding new sales representatives, ensuring that new hires are equipped with the training and resources to succeed.
- Customer Relationship Management: Oversee the team’s interactions with customers to ensure a high standard of professionalism and service. Ensure any post-sale account management issues are handled promptly.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on team performance, employee scheduling, customer feedback, and market conditions. Suggest adjustments to sales tactics as needed.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about competitors’ activities, local market trends, and customer needs. Adjust tactics and provide feedback to upper management as required.
- Training & Development: Continuously assess the team’s skills and provide training opportunities to enhance their selling techniques, product knowledge, and customer service abilities.
- Field Operations: Ensure that all team members adhere to Brightspeed’s policies and procedures, including compliance with field activity KPI standards and accurate reporting.
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
- 3+ years of sales management experience, with a proven track record of success in door-to-door or field sales environments
- Proven leadership abilities with a strong focus on coaching, development, and performance management
- Ability to build and maintain a motivated and high-performing team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships both internally and externally
- A deep understanding of direct sales and the ability to provide hands-on coaching in the field
- Strong analytical skills to track performance and adjust sales strategies as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory, including field visits with team members
- Must be able to work flex hours including evenings and weekends, as needed, to support team members and maximize sales opportunities
- Experience managing teams of direct sales representatives, particularly in telecommunications or related industries
- A valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
- Proven leadership abilities with a strong focus on coaching, development, and performance management
- Experience in the telecommunications or internet services industry, with a focus on high-speed internet and related products
- Experience recruiting, training, and developing a successful sales team
- Familiarity with sales tools, CRM platforms, and reporting systems
Physical Demands:
- Most of the time in the role will be spent working with the sales team in the field, with exposure to various weather conditions during field visits. Minimal time will be spent in an office environment.
- Flex time / evening and weekend availability required to support team activities and meet customer demands
