Plays a critical role in supporting the Legal department’s operational efficiency, financial management and strategic initiatives. This position serves as a bridge and liaison between Legal, Finance, Procurement and other business units in the Giant Eagle footprint, ensuring that Legal operations align with broader organizational goals.THIS POSITION IS A HYRID WORK MODEL, REQUIRED TO WORK ON SITE 3 DAYS IN OFFICE AT OUR CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP HQ.

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct spend analysis on outside counsel cost to identify cost-savings opportunities;
- Monitor outside counsel spend and manage billing processes in coordination with Finance;
- Prepare regular reports on legal spend; and provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making
- Leverage and support the adoption of AI-powered CLM platforms to automate contract intake, clause extraction, risk scoring and compliance monitoring.
- Implement, maintain and optimize legal technology tools in matter management, e-billing, CLM to perform and improve workflow automation, AI-enabled analytics, status tracking objectives.
- Assist in the adoption and integration of AI solutions to enhance efficiency in drafting, summarization and repository management.
- Partner with IT and procurement to ensure CLM data governance, integration with ERP/Finance systems and compliance with security and privacy standards.
- Develop playbooks, templates and reporting dashboards within the CLM system to support consistency and maintain department policies, procedures and workflows
- Use AI and CLM-generated data to benchmark contract terms, identify negotiation trends and to drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance legal service delivery.
- Lead or support cross-functional projects involving Legal and business teams.
- Track milestones, manage resources and ensure timely delivery of Legal initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel to draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including services, marketing, licensing, non-disclosure and other commercial agreements.
- Understand the Giant Eagle structure, its products, programs and services offerings to identify risks, develop salutation, mitigation and negotiation strategies.
- Perform risk analysis review for all contractual documents and recommend mitigation options to business stakeholders.
- Create and maintain relationships with vendors, customers and internal business units to fulfill the contract management function.
- Maintain deadlines on review deliverables and communicate on an on-going basis with business partners, vendors and internal clients about contractual issues.
- Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational and management databases and securely maintained.
- Prepare and provide various reports related to the contracting function, including performance reports of contracting tools and status of reviews.
- Monitor critical contract obligations to assess and consider for modification, close-out, extensions and/or renewals.
- Assist business teams with and draft change control notices, addendums and amendments to existing agreements, as needed.
Skills Required
