How you’ll contribute:

The Manager, Learning and Development will design, develop, and deliver effective and engaging learning and development programs for IHFM employees at all levels. This position creates pro-active and responsive L & D solutions to meet the needs of a large medical device environment while seizing opportunities for continuous improvement in individual, team and organizational performance.

  • Conduct organizational assessments and learning needs assessments.
  • Develop recommendations, solutions and programs that will drive employee and organizational effectiveness.
  • Assess trends and anticipate future use of vendors and training programs by proposing best in class practices.
  • Evaluate current and future corporate learning and leadership programs for implementation.
  • Consult and partner closely with leaders in each department to design, develop, and lead the implementation of strategic workforce development plans.
  • Assess organizational and functional gaps with the Talent – Capabilities and Competencies Road Map to design and develop effective programs/solutions
  • Redesign and lead the implementation of new hire on-boarding for hourly manufacturing professionals.
  • Design and create on-the-job training and other learning and developmental activities required for developing core and technical competencies, and maintenance of required knowledge and skills.
  • Deliver, facilitate, and design effective audience specific trainings targeted to professional and higher level employees.
  • Develop and deliver training including, instructor-led, multimedia visual aids, online programs, educational materials, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Identify key metrics and develop evaluation processes to ensure learning and development program effectiveness. Perform complex cost analysis of results and ROI in training and identify potential improvement opportunities and propose and implement solutions to optimize training process.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to leverage Talent Development Reviews and performance management processes and tools in order to build effective individual development plans.
  • Partner and align with Corporate Centers of Excellence (COEs), especially Technical Learning, Leadership Development, Talent Management and Edwards University. Coordinate with QA and Operations training, as needed.

What you’ll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Human Resources Management or other related field and 8+ years previous experience in learning and development
  • Excellent presentation, influencing, relationship management and facilitation skills
  • Strong understanding and/or formal training in adult learning theory and instructional design
  • Prior experience with Articulate 360 or other related content creation systems

  • Able to work independently and proactively at an accelerated work pace
  • Capable of driving and leading projects and initiatives
  • Proven expertise in usage of MS Office and learning management systems
  • Able to exercise a variety of skillsets including HR business partnering, organizational change management, and leadership development
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Expert understanding of related aspects of learning and development processes and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to perform in an environment of change and ambiguity
  • Ability to perform and interpret needs analyses and translate the findings into actionable plans
  • Strong business acumen with the understanding of the business as the foundation for driving productivity through people
  • Strong experience in driving and handling projects through managing multiple stakeholders as well as having good experience in demonstrating ROI and value propositions
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For Illinois, the base pay range for this position is $102,000 to $145,000 (highly experienced).
