OverviewThe Epic Cogito Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational oversight, and continued evolution of the Epic Cogito analytics platform supporting clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory reporting across the health system. This role leads a growing team of analysts and developers, ensures high-quality enterprise reporting, and owns the delivery of regulatory and externally mandated reports in partnership with clinical, quality, compliance, and finance stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is both a people leader and analytics strategist, capable of scaling a high-performing team while maintaining rigor, reliability, and trust in enterprise data.
People & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Epic Cogito analysts and developers
- Drive team expansion through workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and skills development
- Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular coaching
- Support Epic certification and professional development
- Ensure work is performed at the top of role and aligned with enterprise priorities
Epic Cogito Platform Ownership
- Provide leadership for Epic Cogito including Clarity, Caboodle, Radar, and analytics tools
- Ensure stable, scalable, and performant reporting solutions
- Partner with Technical, Infrastructure, and Security teams
- Establish standards for report development, validation, documentation, and change management
Regulatory & External Reporting
- Own delivery of regulatory, compliance, and externally required reports
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, audit readiness, and traceability
- Partner with Quality, Compliance, Finance, Population Health, and Clinical leaders
- Anticipate regulatory changes and ensure analytics readiness
Stakeholder & Governance Partnership
- Serve as a trusted analytics advisor
- Participate in data governance and analytics prioritization forums
- Balance regulatory, operational, and strategic analytics demand
- Communicate risks, timelines, and tradeoffs clearly
Strategy & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the enterprise analytics roadmap
- Standardize, automate, and retire low-value reporting
- Leverage managed services appropriately
- Support analytics modernization and self-service adoption
Education- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree
5 yrs relevant years experience with a degree
7 yrs relevant years’ experience without a degree
- Epic Cogito certification (Required)
- Experience scaling analytics teams
- Population health or value-based care analytics experience
- Managed services partnership experience
- Master’s degree in informatics or analytics
