Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, in your resume you MUST be able to demonstrate the following:

• Team Leadership: At least 2+ years of proven experience in leading teams or managing departments.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced-to-Expert knowledge of PKI, certificate services, cryptography, and data encryption. Experience with Venafi and/or Thales solutions is highly desirable.
• Backup Solutions Experience: Hands-on experience with deploying and managing backup technologies, including immutable backups and object-based storage. Experience with Rubrik, Azure, and AWS backup solutions is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade protective solutions, ensuring Velera’s data is secure and recoverable in the face of any threat.
• Oversee Velera's certificate infrastructure and orchestration platforms to guarantee timely issuance and renewals while maintaining security best practices.
• Drive the strategy for enterprise data backup and recovery, including immutable multi-system restorations following potential ransomware attacks.
• Manage encryption technologies for both data at rest and in transit, upholding governance and controls.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define backup schedules, test procedures, and recovery capabilities.
• Act as a key contributor to Velera's IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity programs.
• Mentor, coach, and develop your team, ensuring professional growth and compliance with processes and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve complex challenges and encourage innovation.
• Oversee hiring, appraisals, and professional development, building a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Lead by example, promoting Velera’s core values in all interactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related discipline (equivalent experience in place of a degree will be considered for the right candidate).
• Preferred, current certifications (one or more of the following) CompTIA Network+ or Security+, CCSP, CISSP, or other relevant industry qualifications.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a team lead or department management role.
• At least five (5) years of progressively advancing IT administration or security experience, focusing on enterprise certificate services and data backup methodologies.
• Hands-on, proven expertise in PKI, certificate services, and encryption technologies.
• Knowledge of immutable backup strategies (e.g., Rubrik), and orchestration tools like Venafi is a strong advantage.
