We are looking for a Manager, International Franchise Development (Europe & Asia) to join our International Team. Responsible for managing and driving international new franchise development (sales) in selected markets in Europe & Asia. Responsibilities include executing against a strategy, including lead generation, lead qualification, business planning, conducting due diligence on prospects, negotiating agreements, and providing recommendations to leadership; ultimately, driving value through signing multi-unit agreements. This role will require cross-functional collaboration with different functional areas within international, as well as the domestic development teams across the different brands. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable in high visibility settings and with prior franchise development experience. The role has critical impact to overall division’s and company’s growth plans.
Responsibilities:
- Sign new multi-unit agreements to meet corporate goals
- Develop and implement lead generation strategy (inbound and outbound); collaborate with brokers, landlords and developers as needed to support lead gen efforts
- Leads creation of effective franchise recruitment programs, including preparing sales and marketing collateral
- Collaborate with VP/RVPs to identify opportunities and build strategic plans in targeted geographies, including key markets in Europe (Spain, Germany, France, Italy and others) and Asia (Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, and others); conducts market analysis to support strategies
- Proactively seek, pursue and qualify franchise candidates in target markets
- Build a franchise development pipeline
- Screen, respond, and filter leads that come in through multiple channels, including salesforce, phone, web, brokers, and social media. Respond and engage with leads in a timely basis, and manage CRM database.
- Guide potential candidates through the franchise opportunity and induction process
- Ensure that all required due diligence documentation is completed for internal approvals
- Drive lead qualification process, including evaluating business plans (for traditional franchisees, ghost kitchens and other non-traditional partnerships), to ensure profitable growth and compliance with brand standards
- Develop term sheets and support negotiations
- Prepare and present deal approval packages at IFRC
- Work collaboratively across functions (operations, legal, finance, marketing and others) to conduct due diligence, validate assessment opportunities and prepare various required documents
- Support onboarding of new franchisees, driving the functional content creation and collaborating with RVPs and other functions
- Support other development projects as needed
- Assist with site packages and other IFRC presentations as needed.
- Actively leverage SalesForce and other tools to drive and monitor development goals and results.
- Target base salary range 100-115k depending on experience
Skills & Requirements:
- International Franchise Sales (3-6 years) in European and/or Asian markets
- Prior experience in restaurant, hospitality, consumer and/or retail industry sectors highly desirable
- A proven track record of demonstrated international franchise sales success and driving growth within a franchise model
- Additional experience in real estate also desirable
- Ability to think strategically, including defining objectives and developing a framework to achieve success
- Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel
- Strong negotiation and influence skills
- Process and detail oriented with excellent commercial and analytical skills
- Self-starter and highly motivated individual with passion to work in an extremely fast paced environment both independently and in a team setting
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce, Finance, Architecture
- MBA degree and/or CFE certification strongly preferred
- Comfort with 30-50% travel and off hour calls as needed to accommodate global time zones
- Multicultural sensitivity
- Proficiency in one or more Asian languages (written and spoken) highly desirable
- Salesforce experience a plus
