The Internal and Executive Communications Manager is responsible for owning, shaping, and executing internal and executive communications and employee engagement strategies that inform, engage, and inspire our community of 4,000 employees. This role serves as a trusted advisor, providing executive communications support to the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer, while leading strategic communications across the Finance and Technology organizations. The position ensures messaging is clear, cohesive, and aligned with enterprise priorities and culture.
Responsibilities- Owns, evolves, and executes communication platforms and strategies supporting the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer, serving as a strategic advisor and thought partner to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy and organizational goals.
- Leads development of internal communications strategies, materials, and campaigns for functional initiatives, partnering across Finance, Technology, and the broader enterprise on efforts such as technology product rollouts and annual financial reporting.
- Drives strategy, content, and production of Finance and Technology All Hands meetings (virtual, hybrid, and/or in person), ensuring cohesive narratives, strong executive presence, and meaningful employee engagement.
- Creates informative, engaging content (e.g., key messages, all-employee and functional communications, executive presentations, digital and internal storytelling) to support Finance and Technology business and cultural priorities.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to connect work across teams, leaders, and initiatives, anticipating needs and elevating the Communications team’s impact, influence, and reputation.
- 8 or more years of relevant experience; 1 or more years in a supervisory or management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Organizational Effectiveness, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
- Insurance and/or healthcare experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, advise, and coach senior leaders while balancing competing priorities.
- Experience supporting complex, high-volume stakeholder groups, with strong prioritization skills and the ability to uphold and evolve service level expectations to maintain enterprise focus.
- Ability to fluidly navigate between strategy and execution, developing high-level strategic plans, while also producing crisp, clear communications aligned to the broader enterprise narrative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Sound judgment and comfort operating with autonomy in fast-paced environments, including the ability to make decisions independently and escalate strategically when appropriate.
- Ability to bring structure, clarity and direction to ambiguous or rapidly changing situations.
- Broad knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends, including the practical application of AI to enhance communications effectiveness.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience in people leadership, executive partnership, and team development.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 22. $92,500 - $200,400 Nationally.
