We are looking for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering leader to join the team responsible for delivering the next generation, omnichannel world-class distribution and fulfillment center!
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONYou will lead, mentor and develop an outstanding team of engineering talent to their full potential to explore technologies, design, develop and implement solutions of physical distribution and fulfillment centers under a structured design process.
The successful candidate will have an established background working in highly cross-functional teams with capability to build high-performance physical systems, a strong technical problem-solving ability, excellent project management skills, and an internal motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced, and often ambiguous environment.
Lead the development and implementation of physical fulfillment systems within Nike NA Logistics; Provides technical leadership and expertise for large-scale engineering projects.
Design and implement engineering solutions that ensure product flow through distribution facilities and human/machine efficiency throughout the Nike NA supply chain.
Lead cost/benefit analyses and craft compelling arguments for capital investment to specific DC design requirements and drive cross-functional alignment with senior leadership.
Collaborate with internal partners to coordinate development of RFP (Request for Proposal), scope of work and functional specifications leading to AR (Appropriation Request) approvals.
Collaborates with multi-functional internal project teams and MHE/Robotics vendors to identify, assess, test and implement flexible and scalable solutions that align with DC design requirements.
Collaborates with internal business partners and external vendors in the execution of system startup activities including installation, commissioning, and performance testing.
Manage numerous projects and tasks simultaneously while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
Responsible for team recruiting, hiring, mentoring and development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any field) or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience and training.
5 + years of experience in logistics engineering or manufacturing engineering or related occupation of Industrial Engineer, Process Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer.
2 + years of experience leading a successful team of engineers.
Master’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field preferred.
Experience must include technical leadership for large scale engineering projects including responsibility for managing MHE vendors, budgets, schedules, and functional/volume/user acceptance tests.
Hands-on design, project realization and operation experience with automated material handling equipment, preferably high-speed conveyance, automated sortation systems, case level ASRS, shuttle systems, automated packaging equipment, goods-to-person picking systems and robotics systems.
Skilled in process design based on Lean Principles.
Ability to review/validate analytical data and determine the best course of action.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Basic knowledge of PLC and control systems preferred.
Experience with simulation software a plus.
Experience with Smartsheet and/or AutoCAD a plus.
Solid computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
