How you will make an impact:

This Procurement Manager role oversees indirect procurement for Japan, leading sourcing and contracting across Sales & Marketing, Meetings & Events, and Corporate Services. The position is responsible for driving cost optimization, supplier performance, contract negotiations, compliance, and process improvements, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders, delivering market and spend insights, promoting procurement best practices, and reporting key performance outcomes to senior management.

  • Lead and manage all indirect procurement activities across various categories including Sales and Marketing, Professional Services, and Corporate Services in Japan.

  • Manage the end-to-end source to contract process, including RFP, RFQ, RFI, and vendor selection process to ensure cost optimization and quality of service.

  • Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, including pricing, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline procurement operations and implement best practices.

  • Monitor supplier performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

  • Forster strong, collaborative relationship with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and alignment procurement support accordingly.

  • Conduct market intelligence and spend analysis to identify cost-savings opportunities and assess supplier capabilities.

  • Conduct regular training sessions for internal stakeholders to build procurement awareness, ensure compliance with procurement policies, and drive adoption of best practices.

  • Provide regular reporting and performance updates to senior management including but not limited to key KPIs and savings achievements.

What you’ll need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field. Professional certification such as CIPS and PMP is a plus.

  • Minimum 7-10 years of Procurement experience, with a focus on indirect categories (e.g. Sales & Marketing, Professional Services, Corporate Services and etc).

  • Deep understanding of the Japan procurement landscape, including local suppliers and market dynamics.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Native-level proficiency in both written and spoken Japanese is required. JLPT N1 certification or equivalent is preferred. Business-level proficiency in English is a strong advantage.

  • Strong analytical and data driven decision-making capabilities.

  • Proficiency in procurement platforms (eg. Coupa) and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (eg. Excel, Word, Power Point) are desirable.
