This role will primarily lead all aspects of accounting for income taxes, including monthly, quarterly and year end provision calculations as well as SEC financial reporting for income taxes. The Manager will also coordinate all information to assist the 3rd party tax preparer with the preparation of federal, state and local income tax returns and manage any resulting income tax audits.
Manage and develop a team of tax professionals.
Prepare or review workpapers for corporate income taxes and franchise tax. Work closely with external preparers to efficiently complete all tax filings.
Manage information for tax accounting methods in areas such as fixed assets, inventory and tax credits.
Manage state transfer pricing study and related information.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end global tax provisions, related tax accounting entries and tax account reconciliations.
Assist in the preparation of the income tax footnote for audited financial statements.
Closely monitor tax law changes for opportunities to lessen tax liabilities and to maintain compliance.
Research tax issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
Assist in income tax audits.
Assist in US international tax compliance and reporting form information.
Review company records for the preparation of personal property tax renditions.
Maintain information for the company organizational chart to assist with third party filings.
All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
6 years of corporate tax experience in either public accounting or a large corporation
Experience with OneSource Income Tax Provision or other tax provision software
Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and SEC Regulations related to tax accounting
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to effectively develop and manage team members
Excellent excel skills
