Position Overview

The Imaging Services Program Director is responsible for contributing to the design, installation, planning, organizing and overseeing the overall operation of the diagnostic Imaging Services across Emerus facilities.  The coordinator collaborates with the physicians, staff, colleagues, vendors and Emerus leadership to ensure the imaging services operates in accordance with all requirements, the Emerus’ Mission and its Objectives.

Essential Job Functions
  • Serves as a key leader to support the Emerus markets on the planning, organizing and execution of Imaging Services operations, ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations
  • Collaborates with home office leadership and new market leadership for new market implementation and launches.
  • Routinely rounds on the Imaging Services areas across the Emerus network to evaluate effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere
  • Properly secures and maintains the physical facilities, equipment and supplies which are required to carry out effective patient care and create an optimum physical environment
  • Initiates and actuates improved methods of services and directs their implementation collaboratively with each facility Hospital Administrator and Regional Chief Nursing Officer
  • Collaborates with IT to implement applications, such as RIS/PACS, and network configurations on modalities
  • Collaborates with hospital administration for the fiscal operation of the department
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administration regarding relative matters within the Imaging Services discipline
  • Interacts professionally with patients / families while in the markets
  • Consults other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities
  • Works with teleradiology services to ensure timely, quality interpretations are delivered to the hospitals
  • Works with ultrasound services to ensure timely, quality sonography services are delivered
  • Establishes and maintains standards of performance and ensures competency and appropriate licensure of personnel
  • Coordinates Imaging Services in-service training across Emerus
  • Promotes effective intradepartmental relationships
  • Initiates, interprets and enforces Imaging Services procedures and maintains and interprets hospital policies and procedures in accordance with ACR, DNV, and state radiation control regulations
  • Cooperates in planning radiation safety programs and general safety and preparedness for radiation hazards, chemical hazards, biological hazards, fire and disaster
  • Attends and participates in hospital committees, as appropriate
  • Assists with the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement and CQI activities
Other Job Functions
  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  • Travel to all facility locations as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • Associates’ Degree in Radiological/Physical Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiological/Physical Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred
  • Maintains Certification as Radiologic Technologist by ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or equivalent, required
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography, required
  • AHRA Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) certification, preferred
  • Current state licensure as required by the state in which practicing, required
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a medical imaging environment
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a medical imaging environment with Quality Assurance and medical imaging regulations/accreditation requirements, strongly preferred

Skills Required

  • Associate degree in Radiological or Physical Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or equivalent
  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography
  • Current state licensure as required by the practicing state
  • At least 5 years of experience in a medical imaging environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Radiological or Physical Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • AHRA Certified Radiology Administrator certification
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience in medical imaging, including quality assurance and imaging regulations or accreditation requirements
