Job Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing all technical accounting and related efforts of Hard Rock’s global businesses. This role is also instrumental in providing financial leadership and supporting new and existing programs to ensure compliance with accounting standards and facilitate periodic financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow Seminole Hard Rock Support Services' policies and procedures. 
  • Help manage a technical accounting department that supports key business activities across the organization. 
  • Research and analyze compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, GASB, and other international accounting standards. 
  • Stay up to date and implement new accounting standards, pronouncements, and policies. 
  • Prepare timely memos summarizing key accounting issues, conclusions, and policies. 
  • Act as the main contact for technical accounting consultants and oversee deliverables. 
  • Manage fixed asset processes from initial recognition to financial reporting. 
  • Collaborate with internal reporting teams, external auditors, and other stakeholders to meet deadlines and resolve queries. 
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures related to technical accounting areas. 
  • Assess the accounting impact of new business initiatives, transactions, and contracts with business units and finance teams. 
  • Provide guidance on complex transactions like mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures. 
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting. 
  • Mentor and train junior team members on technical accounting topics. 
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence. 
  • Maintain a professional image when interacting with employees, guests, clients, owners, and investors. 
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with advanced Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA or equivalent certification required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four firm, is highly desirable
  • Must possess excellent time management skills
  • Strong communication skills, including being a good listener and articulating complex issues in a crisp, compelling, and insightful manner.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in ASC 805 and ASC 810

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Master's degree in accounting or related advanced degree
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience (preferably Big Four)
