Empower transformation by becoming a driving force of change at MAS as we are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to join the Industrial Engineering team as a Manager ‐ IE & Autonomation. This role would enable you to lead plant IE teams in sewing, cutting and warehouses to ensure continuous improvements are carried out through Lean initiatives & industrial engineering principles and autonomation solutions in the manufacturing processes and other operational areas to increase productivity and maximize incentives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the plant Industrial Engineering function to maximize productivity, efficiency, and capacity while minimizing cost.
- Ensure maximization of productivity in the indirect departments (cutting, warehouses) by taking measures such as calculating efficiencies of the relevant departments and following up on indirect incentives.
- Lead the factory integration and quick changeover process to minimize bucket loss in the production process by ensuring that pre-preparation activities take place as per the plan.
- Ensure effective coordination with planning and merchandising teams to ensure optimum plant loading is achieved to maximize productivity and incentive outflow.
- Maximize utilization of the Darwin shop floor system and its enhancements (Thulitha) to align with upcoming IE applications through the Thulitha system (QCO, Yamazumi, skill).
- Ensure that measures are taken to validate that the SMVs (GSD-based) and consumption provided to the manufacturing process are feasible.
- Collaborate with the simultaneous engineering team to maximize productivity in line with production engineering principles by implementing recommended layouts, attachments, machines, sewing methods, etc., and communicating method improvements to the SE team.
- Monitor and drive skill development by liaising with technical training and production teams, ensuring execution of required training, and monitoring progress through periodic skill reviews.
- Ensure optimal utilization of autonomation solutions while carrying out Kaizen activities to maximize productivity.
- Be responsible for the implementation and progress of special projects (dancing module, chassis-based planning, machine uberization, continuous flow, Lean phase) of the plant to generate expected business results.
- Monitor systems from prototype development to production solution deployment in the plant and work closely with the central Autonomation team and internal support teams to deliver effective results.
- Ensure continuous improvement of operations through lean and industrial engineering principles and related tools to maximize the utilization of manpower, materials, methods, and machines.
- Ensure expenses remain within the budgeted cost (sewing attachments) while implementing effective internal control systems to minimize MRVs and material wastage.
- Take appropriate measures to ensure the development of subordinates through training, coaching, and competency development.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering/Technology/Management
- 4–6 years of business experience.
- GSD license
- Experience in leading and managing large teams
- Strong people management and communication skills
