Job Summary:

Under general direction, oversee and guide team of hourly/salaried non-exempt employees in the Claims Department. Act as face of the team to external parties, such as other areas of the Company, customers, etc. As part of management responsibilities, monitor operations and team performance, ensure standard operating procedures are followed, etc., and support escalated issues as they arise

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign open files to a group of Litigation Claims Examiners, monitor workload and adjust as needed.
  • Counsel/give advice on new and existing claims.
  • Coordinate with other departments or segments of the company, including outside vendors and customers.
  • Ensure claims are reported in timely manner to insurance carriers.
  • Provide guidance on settlement authority to team members within their defined ranges.
  • Support night safety with their questions and coordinate legal representation.
  • Provide management guidance, coaching and mentoring to team members, as needed, including other personnel actions (e.g., performance evaluations, hiring).

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED with more than 5 years combination of education, experience and training.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4-5 years combination of education, experience, and training
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone
  • Ability to form strong arguments and defend a position professionally
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individuals
  • Ability to make independent, time-sensitive decisions
  • Ability to make time-sensitive decisions
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
  • Experience managing/supervising individuals and team
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in claims
  • Proficient time management skills
  • Self-motivation.

Shift:

Mon-Fri: 0800-1700

This position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.

Benefits:

The Company offers the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, as may be in effect from time to time: medical benefit, dental benefit, vision benefit, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off commensurate with tenure (includes vacation and sick time), six weeks of paid maternity leave along with two weeks of paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually.
