Northrop Grumman's Corporate Office has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager 2 to join our Human Resources (HR) team in San Diego, California. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role collaborating with site functional teams and provide leadership to HR professionals.
The selected candidate will possess depth and breadth of knowledge across HR functions to include, talent management, succession planning, organizational effectiveness, compensation, talent acquisition and employee relations. Strong project management experience is essential; demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and coordinating activities and projects utilizing cross-functional teams and influencing with and without authority; demonstrated skills in various organization effectiveness capabilities including and not limited to change management, talent management and group facilitation.
Responsibilities:
- Establish strong business relationships with assigned client leadership teams and create effective partnerships across HR and centers of excellence (COE’s)
- Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develop solutions in partnership with HR business partners, leaders, and COEs
- Use data and analytics to develop solutions for current business issues
- Provide business insight through data analysis, research and benchmarking
- Recommend and implement winning practices employed in the areas of talent acquisition, assessment, development, compensation, organizational effectiveness, strategy, on-boarding, change management and communications
- Analyze and concisely present information to the leaders and employees to enable good business decisions
- Partner with sector HR Business Partners to identify, develop and execute talent strategies with impacts at the Corporate and Sector levels
- Leverage and partner with HR colleagues in talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, diversity, equity, and inclusion and organizational effectiveness to support talent strategies
- Provide day-to-day people leadership to the team and create an environment that accelerates development of HR talent
- Role model leadership behaviors and company values
- Leadership Development—focused on strong succession planning and strategic leadership movement. Partner with enterprise-wide functional leaders to build leadership depth to support the succession planning process. Support and enable leaders to make informed decisions about talent and to hold their organizations accountable for results
- This position has significant senior leadership contact and requires a candidate with strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, ambiguous and continually changing environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience OR Master’s degree in HR or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of progressive HR experience
- Solid track record in overall HR management and as trusted advisor and people leader
- Superb communication skills and the ability to establish strong rapport and credibility as a forward-looking thought leader
- Proven ability to influence for impact at all levels and develop an internal network to gain support for best HR practices
- Ability to navigate cultural and business sensitivities to champion diversity, equity, inclusion, performance, and employee engagement
- Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Organization Development, Industrial Psychology, Management, or related field
- Five+ years of people management experience
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to establish strong rapport and credibility as a forward-looking thought leader
- Experience with Workday Human Resources Information System
Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
